The yugo M70 aks that Century has been putting out lately have been getting a lot more praise than their WASR rifles. WASRs seem to have gone up in quality recently as well from what I've heard.
If you are buying locally, I'd suggest avoiding buying anything from Collector's Firearms or Pruett's until you've had a chance to compare prices elsewhere-both of those stores tend to price their products very high.

I've had both a Polytech in .223 and a Bulgarian in 7.62. The Chinese Poly is by far a superior rifle, whatever caliber you buy. I sold them both a while back but I still have my Russian SKS. I think it is cheaper and more accurate-plus I have a boatload of 7.62 ammo- nice rifle to have stashed and cached. My safe is full of AR's now!
