I do not have my CHL in hand yet (should be next week) have not had one in some time. I work on farm land and ranches though in the evenings and all day on the weekends. Being private land, and the the owners very gun friendly, they allow open carry on their land. I do, as a part of my gear, i wear the 9mm duel magazine holster provided by a Springfield for their XD line. Because its not expressly illegal to have your magazines exposed i have done so regularly. I wear my belt with Gerber, mini mag, and magazine holster at my normal job in a "weapon free" facility. The weapons stay locked in a car safe, so short of throwing bullets at someone, their benign. My employees have seen it and know what it is, short of asking me if i was armed and i reply by citing company policy, I have never had an issue. I have never had an issue with a LEO, we see them regularly in my line of work.

Based on the locations Excalibur provided, I've worn both a couple of times so far and it works just as advertised. I've really been more concerned about concealment failures from the back (i.e. the shirt blows up from that direction) because it would be those where I might not notice that someone had observed. I'm sure, for me, that it is the initial concern for things like getting in and out of the car (we have a van that is a fair drop to the ground) that everyone goes through. I'm really surprised at how the magazine pouch doesn't appear to be anything worrisome from more than about 5 feet away, even if it is exposed.

I'm not to the "forget about it" stage yet. After I've been doing things for a while, I'm sure that it will be fine. I'm confident about the equipment that I bought. A recent run to the clothing store yielded the right shirts and pants, too.

I use a horizontal magnetic flap cell phone case for my 7 shot single stack mag. It's really thin, and I can get to the mag really quickly.

I tried some of the purpose made solutions (Fobus, 5.11 Tactical) and neither worked as well as my old Cingular case.

Academy sells come cheap ($9) knife holders with snap covers that work pretty well. They come in three sizes and clip on. The small size works with an LCP size mag and the large size will take a .45 or hi capacity 9mm mag.

I carry a reload in a pocket pouch during the Summer and other times I don't want to wear a cover garment.

I do the same. I put a single stack .45 mag in the support side front pocket with my small ID wallet (which is separate from my money wallet - saves trouble if I have to part with the latter) and my Surefire. This pocket load keeps the magazine oriented for proper grip, and doesn't print at all. I've done the same with double stack mags and it works with those too, although there is a bit of printing by the magazine baseplate in that case. It's not enough to be worth worrying over, since it doesn't show an identifiable profile.

LOL I worked for Ripoffs when they were still a Mom and Pop shop and still privately owned. My first paying job. Good to see they are still around.

I'm going to give one of these a try for my 1911 magazines. Close fitting, and made here in Tx.
