Great place in Plano on 18th just north of Avenue K. Don't remember the name, but it is a combination bakery and restaurant. There is another one on 18th at Avenue G. But I am a gringo, so what do I know?

If you were in the El Paso area, I'd point you to the Horizon Star Bakery just a few blocks from where I live.
4 flavors of empanada, espongas, pan dulces of all kinds including "regular" donuts, bolillos, and the best marranitos I've ever had. They also make burritos, and sell fresh menudo on the weekends. (You can see the line outside of people bringing their own empty pots to be filled... you have to be early as the demand is pretty high.)
There's also this giant, flaky croissant made with cinnamon between the layers....

not a mexican bakery

Real Mexican bakeries don't make Kolaches.

My mother baked all her life and also owned/ran a bakery and I still had to look up what the heck a Kolache is

Thanks everyone......this is the place I went to. They had most of the ones I was looking for and I scored enough cool points with the wife to get a Sig 238. THANKS!!!

I just saw one today on the southeast corner of Josey and 190. It is in the same strip mall as the China King Buffet. Let us know what this panaderia taste like. Are they any good?
