Hogs are a terrible and destructive nuisance, however, if they aren't too large they are good eating. If you contact a game processor that is affiliated with Hunters For The Hungry they will process for a nominal fee. Be sure to field dress and properly care for the carcass by keeping it cold until arrival at the butcher.

Unfortunately, Hunters for the Hungry will NOT take hogs.

Having grown up on a ranch in central texas and currently owning a place in North Texas and also managing another one, I can tell you unless you're looking for a place where you can pay to hunt, either lease or day hunt, it's going to be somewhat difficult getting an invitation. Most land owners I know are pretty skiddish about letting just anybody set foot on their property especially with a weapon without either knowing them or knowing someone who knows them and can vouch for their person. They know gates are left open that are supposed to be always closed and gates get closed shutting livestock off from water and things get damaged and/or just disappear...not to mention cattle manage to die without any apparent reason.

So my recommendation for you, and exactly what it would do if it were me is to get out and start scouting it out for yourself. Stop in coffee shops in the smaller communities early in the morning where the local guys hang out for coffee, introduce yourself and tell em what you're looking for. Some might talk to ya, others will look the other direction as though you were hurting their eyes. Anyway, if you want it bad enough sooner or later you'll make some connections, and if you behave yourself and take care of the landowners property as he requires you'll start getting some invitations. Just understand that lot's of these old timers think that if you weren't around when the creeks were dug, you don't belong.

My great nephew gets invited to these 'leave 'em where they fall' hunts along the Brazos River. But it does come down to knowing someone.
