Favorite foods

Brazilian barbecue beef, Korean barbecue beef ribs or pork ribs, broiled lobster, shrimp, crab. Any Cantonese food, roast lamb in any Middle Eastern country.

Least Favorite Foods

Traditional American (bleh), except a well prepared medium rare steak.

Dying to try

I'll try almost anything one time at least once.

Favorite Restaurants

Um, er...well...um... :headscratch Only one that I can think of locally (but can't afford really) is Boi Na Braza in Grapevine.

Favorite foods? Thai, pizza, Italian, sushi, steak, anything on a grill, really pretty much anything (my cooking or eating out).

Least Favorite Foods? oysters - had a bad one ONCE and that's ALL it took, I'll spare you the details!

Dying to try? Canard à la presse (Pressed duck)

Favorite Restaurants? So many...where do I begin?? Strip House in Houston, Boi na Braza (and any other) in Grapevine, Burritos Locos in Grapevine, Flip's Patio Grill, Bob's Chop House in Grapevine, Guerro's in Austin, Mellow Mushroom (all over), Peace Burger (love their wings and tacos!), Big Daddy's on Grapevine Lake.

Here's a few pix of some of my favorites, some I made, others I bought.

From this comes one of the BEST things in life: tacos al pastor from Guero's in Austin!!!

Camerones a la diablo at Burritos Locos, yummy! Even had potato salad.
Image

Cooked up some shrimp scampi with grilled asparagus and mushrooms and onions with a balsamic reduction. And maybe a little too much parmesan, but I LOVE cheese! Yummy!!
Image

I cooked up some nice bacon-wrapped scallops with grill asparagus, AWESOME!
Image

Tomato and eggs, ever had it? It's a Tuscan dish. Parents had it in Italy. They brought a Tuscan cookbook home for me so here it is. Just cracked the eggs. It was REALLY good!
Image

My first shot at Deviled Eggs, they ROCK!
Image

My first shot at Cream Cheese Stuffed & Bacon-Wrapped Jalapenos, yummmmmy!!
Image

I made deviled eggs ONCE (see above)...too much effort/time to make them the way I like them...so, for a friend's party I just called up Kincaid's and got a bunch...they are the best "restaurant" deviled eggs that I've had!
Image

Mmmmmmm....chili! Love that stuff, nicknamed it Brad's 3 Burn Chili...any guesses? LOL
Image

Stuffed jalpenos from Kingcaid's...party tip - if you don't have the time and/or are lazy...call ahead and order a bunch of them!
Image

Thai buffet from Thai Riverside in Grapevine.
Image

Miscellaneous Sushi appetizer that I had at a customer event, first time to try Octopus as sushi, I've had it in ceviche, both were great!
Image

Rooftop dining at Campania in Southlake, awesome pizza!
Image

This was from the Weber Grill in Chicago, this is the same way I do it back home, nice and simple. It was deeeelish!
Image

Chicken panang curry at Happy Elephant in Itasca (Chicago)...yum!!!
Image

Another Chicago favorite, a Chicago Dog!!
Image

Oktoberfest is coming soon! This was from Addison.
Image

Cheese flight in Milwaukee, when in Wisconsin one must eat cheeeeese!!
Image

Wife and I took a little road trip to Bristol, TN, for the race, stopped in Memphis on the way back...
Image

Memphis dry ribs, of course!
Image

From Big Daddy's - Prime rib sandwhich with horseradish sauce, grilled mushrooms and onions on a sourdough bun, it was yum!

There isn't a whole lot I won't eat, and I can't say that I honestly have a "favorite" as there is just far too much good chow out there to choose just ONE type.

I generally cook in phases and make everything from scratch.

This past week has been a "Louisiana" phase with Gumbo, Jambalaya, red beans and rice, shrimp etoufee, and fried cat fish.

One of the absolutely greatest things about the "innernets" is the fact you can pull up REAL recipe's from pretty much ANY type of cuisine on-line, and can usually see a video of HOW to make it on youtube and such...

I really can't get excited about any food. I just eat to keep from being hungry. I especially don't like seafood much (it is, after all, just a form of bait).

What's that?

My husband guesses you mean brats in hot dog buns.

Carry-a-Kimber wrote:FAV: Bone in Ribeye, seared rare. Also can't be a really good burger.
LEAST FAV: Durian Fruit, I can't stand raw celery either.
DYING TO TRY: Sushi in Tokyo.
Ribeye is #1. Good Burger is ichiban.

+1 on the Durian. I like celery, not dark green and stringy, but the celery heart.

For me, sushi in Tokyo was the same as good sushi in Houston. Horse meat sushi is a whole different story.
