Yeah, in addition to the gravity problem, I think that it would do that, too. However, women sometimes wear something like this for carrying under a skirt, don't they? But I don't believe they go jogging with it.

Every reference I've seen to women using thigh carry is that they are extremely uncomfortable. So much so that they can't bear to wear it for more than a few hours in a normal business day. If that's what happens with little to no exertion, I wouldn't want to try it on a pounding run. But keep in mind that I'm not a runner, don't carry a gun, and have never tried on a thigh holster so take it for what its worth.

I have used a fanny pack with my Kahr MK40 inside (also inside a zip lock). I sweat profusely so when I'm done my clothes are soaked and I'm wringing wet with sweat. I couldn't wear a smartcarry and keep anything dry, my gun would be as wet as I am. The fanny pack may be a little "out", but it still works. I usually throw in some other things like my IPOD. It makes it look less like a holster.

In his interview on GunTalk, I'm pretty sure he said he had it in a fanny pack.

This is pretty timely because I just switched my running to a nearby park instead of the high school track that is being used for the school football team and the legal issues of carrying at the school during such organized events is too iffy for me to chance so...
Even though my little .380 only weigh 12.3 ounces fully loaded it still drags down like a boat anchor in lightweight non belted running shorts.
At the school during the summer I just wore pocketed shorts and carried the .380 in a lightweight pocket holster but because of the tighter fit they tend to chaffe a runner as they are not loose fitting nor designed for such activity.
I have actually given thought to buying one of those little super lightweight NAA mini revolvers in 22 mag or 22 long rifle to carry in my pocket of my lightweight running shorts.
I am sure the .45acp set will roll their eyes at such an idea but it beats a sharp stick any day.

I checked the maxpedition website and they have a couple of bags that you can use that also holds your water bottle. Maybe that would make it look less like a fanny pack? I saw the keltec p3at on a website and i am considering that weapon purely for when i start running in the morning around my neighborhood. I prefer 9mm but .380 is better than nothing.

I have a Camelbak waist pack that I have used. It sets in the small of my back, so not real quick to get to, but a lot quicker than running home. My runs are not long enough to need water, so I don't carry the water bladder, and put my Bersa in where it goes. If anybody looked closely, they would see that there is not hydration hose, but I don't think most will pay that close of attention. And I figure that because it is bright yellow, and says "Camelbak", nobody will be thinking "gun".

As an aside, their tagline used to be "Hydrate or die." Somewhere in there, there is a joke... I guess, if you were carrying a water bladder AND a handgun, that could your response to anyone accosting you - said in your best Dirty Harry voice - "Hydarate or die, punk!"

My wife occasionally puts her insulin pump in a thigh "holster" whenever the dress she's wearing won't allow stowing it elsewhere. She really doesn't like wearing it for long periods, and avoids it if at all possible. Weight-wise, her pump is on par with an LCP. That seems like a non-starter to me, spy movies notwithstanding.

I carry a S&W 442 in a Blackhawk pocket holster, and just drop it in my pocket. I've run almost 450 miles this year. Other than bouncing around in my pocket a little bit, there have been no problems.

I recently started an exercise program myself, and although I jog a little, I mostly am still walking until I get some of the weight off to take it easy on my knees. I've been jogging/walking about four miles every morning for about three weeks, along with a change in diet, and I've dropped about 15 lbs so far. :-)

At first I was carrying my S&W 442 in an IWB holster, but I was concerned about he perspiration leading to rust. Lately I've been carrying my Taurus PT145, in an IWB holster. The Taurus was cheaper than the S&W, and since it's a polymer-framed pistol it's more resistant to perspiration. Plus I've got 10 rounds of .45 ACP instead of 5 rounds of .38 Special. The PT145 is certainly heavier than the S&W 442, but with my usual belt and a pair of cargo shorts it's not bad at all. I typically wear a compression shirt underneath a loose t-shirt to give me something between my skin and the holster.

Once I start running more seriously and the weather cools off more, I will probably go back to the S&W 442. I've been tempted to try one of those compression shirts with the holster built in that they advertise on the NRA Store website. Anybody have any experience with them?

I found this looking around some sites.
The Good:
you can carry it off your body so sweat will not be an issue.
You could probably fit an I pod or something in the pouch.
The Bad:
If you are carrying it in your hand i can see how you can easily loose control of your weapon if someone surprises and you and is able to rip it out of your hand.
I looked at the 5.11 pouch. Interesting option. Doesn't look like your usual fanny pack. That might work. Cheaper too. I would like a ruger LCP but that is cost prohibitive right now seeing as I am saving up for a new AR and optic. To many toys not enough cash.....
