Any ideas on a good revolver for carry?
I'm going to throw this recommendation out because I have one and carry it 24/7.
..even when just wearing a bathrobe.
Smith and Wesson 642. It's lightweight, shoots +P rounds, and carries nicely in a pocket.

The 642 is a good gun. The M&P340 weighs a couple of ounces less, but is otherwise the same size, and having the .357 option if you want it is nice - but it is
much more expensive.

You would be well served with either choice.

I was at the range one Saturday and started talkin to an old guy next to me and the subject turned to CHLs and he pulled a Judge out of his pocket. That was the only time I ever held one but it wasn't as bulky as I expected. I guess there could be friendly fire issues if you carried it with .410s in it.

IMHO I prefer to find a .357 that I like that way I can fire .38 on the range or load up for my fiance. When I carry it I prefer the heavier .357 load for SD.

I'm right there with you, *when* I buy a larger revolver, it will be .357 mag for that reason.
