I think it will be a most interesting face. Moonbeam has been able to remake his image repeatedly throughout his long political career. His recent activities on behalf of the 2A have been most surprising in my mind.Nicolai wrote:One of Ann Coulter's recent columns said the "new face of the Democrat Party" is Jerry Brown!

If you think that mental image was bad, you should have seen the 3 others that I had that violate the 10 year old daughter rule.

A few years ago, I was assigned to manage two departments in CA where the customers where upset and the employees were frustrated. I made numerous trips there while trying to get the situation stabilized. If was my first opportunity to explore the mindset of quite a few of the natives. In the course of time, I was involved in conversations about subjects other than work and finally decided that there was something in the water out there that had brain warping powers. I could seldom find anyone with any beliefs with which I agreed.
Reality does not play much of a part in CA thinking. Perhaps it is a mental accommodation for them being willing to live on top of the San Andreas fault. If you pretend that earthquakes (and many other things) don't exist, they cannot hurt you.

Jerry Brown as Governor, Hawaii Five O on TV, The A Team and Karate Kid have recently been released......Am I back in the 70s and 80s?

The problem with a pimple is that if you aren't careful it eventually ends up all over everyone.chasfm11 wrote:sjfcontrol wrote:Uhhh, thank you for that very vivid mental image!chasfm11 wrote:The pimple that is Kalifornia will eventually come to a head - it isn't going to be pretty.(didn't that smiley used to be animated?)

It will take a financial meltdown (hence my pimple analogy) to rectify the problem.

Things in Kalifornia must not be as bad as all of you think they are.
I mean, the city counsel of San Francisco had enough time on their hands to legislatively ban Happy Meals.

That was NOT an unintended aspect of the analogy. Given Washington's recent propensity to bail out every dog and his brother AND the "true blue" voting support that CA voters seem desperate to provide, I fully expect that any financial meltdown in CA DOES get all over the rest of us. It is just like the housing mess. I just love subsidizing people to live in houses that they could not afford to buy in the first place. I can only hope that the new US House members will not give me the honor of subsidizing all of the misguided spending that CA has been doing - and seems anxious to continue doing. I'm only slightly hopeful that isn't going to happen.Purplehood wrote: The problem with a pimple is that if you aren't careful it eventually ends up all over everyone.

There is something an adult does that a child does not. The adult can tell him/herself "no" when circumstances demand it. In that light, California is, collectively, much like a child.

Lack of personal responsibility has had us lurching along to this outcome for a very long time; my kids even noticed it when they were 10 and 11 years old!

What do they have against life, liberty and the pursuit of happy meals?
When in doubt
Vote them out!

Re: Kalifornia elects Jerry Brown again....BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Kalifornia is the epicenter of most things Liberal. It is central to the Liberal philosophy that we mere mortals are incapable of making our own intelligent decisions (like whether or not the buy our kids a fast food dinner that contains a toy.) We are such mental weaklings that we will always be swayed into feeding our kids bad stuff just so that they can get the toy in box. So, the more intelligent elite in the SF government get to remove our choices so that we don't make those bad ones. Just think how wonderful the Bay area is now going to be. In one swift stroke of the pen, the local Pelosi wannabes have cured childhood obesity and now, basking in the glow of their wondrous success, are merely waiting until the dullards across the rest of the geography catch up with their inspirational thinking and propagate the ban.tacticool wrote:What do they have against life, liberty and the pursuit of happy meals?
By the way, that life, liberty and pursuit of happiness stuff comes from one of those two arcane documents that are now totally irrelevant in today's more enlightened society. Our old pal Thomas Jefferson would surely see the wisdom of a Happy Meal ban if he were here today.

What exactly does this has to do with guns?
BTW, Jerry Brown is a lot more pro gun than Meg Whitman is.
