Well I pulled the trigger and went with the Kimber Ultra CDP II NIB, Got a really good deal on it. Also picked up a new Minotaur MTAC Holster and love the set up, carries well, conceals good and comfortable. Didnt realize what I was missing, between the feel of Ruger P-95 and the Kimber, well its day and night. Know I just have to remember its on me :fire

USA1, heres one for you, :tiphat: been around firearms all my life, in the military. Today I went to shoot my Kimber it really is shooting high 6" to 7" @ 15 yds, the windage is good. I am very proficent with a handgun, cant see it being me. The groups were tight just off, The ammo Remington UMC with a 230 grain FMJ bullet. Good or bad for the 45? I shoot this out of my 9mm 115gr and has proved to be good and 2" to 3" 6 shot groups @ 15 yds. I put 70 rounds through the Kimber today, total for gun. Any thoughts USA1 others chime in also?

I'm at a loss for words on that one. From what you describe, I wouldn't blame it on the ammo.
Let's wait and see what some others say about it, as I'm interested to hear also.

All I shoot is .45 230 grain fmj at the range. Interesting....a good group 6" high. I dont know....never seen that at 15 yards. If there is no conclusion drawn we can always blame it on global warming but lets save that for now and see what else someone has to say.

I called Kimber after returning, first questions how many rounds thru gun? 70 total I stated. Reply HMMM. Was gun bought new? Yes 4 days young never fired till today nor never dropped:banghead: Reply HMMM. Asked me about AMMO, explained. Told me I had two options, put more rounds thru it? try different Ammo and notice any changes? or send slide in to Kimber. :banghead: 3 to 5 day turn around or before I hear from them? :banghead:
By no means am I bashing just explaining, I am puzzled. :biggrinjester:

I'm not questioning your abilities, but I think you should go
back to the range (maybe with different ammo) and try again.

Perhaps you might need to become more familiar with those
particular sights. Maybe try bench resting the gun to check
it's accuracy. Maybe have someone else shoot it to see if the
same thing happens with them.

Just a few thoughts. ;-)

BTW, is this your first 1911?

Are you sighting point of aim or 6 o'clock hold?

Not going to give up with out a fight :reddevil
Tonight while cleaning I noticed that when I align the front sight level with the top of the rear sight that the dot on the front sight is slightly higher than the rear dots. I think this is my problem, I have never seen this before until tonight, I am used to aligning level across the rear. I did not notice this today at the range in my sight picture, will have to re-train the brain.
No not my first real gun "rlol" I have had other 1911's.
Will update.

Thanks for all the replies
