I hear stuff all the time from friends of friends or people who just comment on guns for whatever reason in public. The ones I always here is that CHLs can't go into any restaurant that has a bar attachment, a liquor store, a school parking lot or bank. There are still many who think you can't have a gun in your car without a CHL unless you are going to the gun range! These of course are people who don't have CHLs and of course took one pre law class God knows when many years ago, so they know everything. It’s never ending disinformation or people just not knowing what they are talking about!

Over the years I've heard a number of things like posted above and in the first page of this thread. For the original post - the closest thing I have heard to that was relating to Class 3 firearms (suppressors, machine guns, etc), which, of course, is not true. Oh, and in regards to a 1%'er and a CHL...I'd say that the "odds are HIGH" that a true 1%'er wouldn't be eligible for a CHL, but I could be wrong LOL

My favorite....As I'm armed and go to Spec's on Saturday afternoon to pick up a case of St. Arnolds X-mas ale with a deputy right outside in the parking lot writing up some sort of report.

I had a guy get so furious once. This was even before I had a CHL years ago and he kept arguing with me at a party even though I walked away and stopped talking to the guy. He insisted that he must use the host’s home computer to prove me wrong. Of course he said that the liquor store law was new and that the old law did not allow a CHL holder to go anywhere that made over 50% of their sales from liquor, regardless of on premises consumption. I think the guy talked to his self for 20 minutes straight trying to convince himself he was right:) even after he looked it up. Of course like always I was polite and just said that must have been the old law. Who knows maybe it was before my time.

Thanks to all who replied to my orginal post. I didn't think what he was saying was true, but wanted to check before I say anything to him since I am new to CHL. I will have my plastic one year next month.
I am in the Christian Motorcyclists Association and am serving as Chaplain in a organization which is made up 3 piece patch type motorcycle clubs including 1%ers. I have known this fellow for close to 15 years before he was what he is today. He and I have a lot of respect for each other because eventhough we have both taken different paths we still treat each other the same. His words not mine.
He found out I was carrying one day at a event when he hugged me(yes bikers hug) and I didn't get my arm in place quick enough and he felt the gun. Matter of fact he put his hand right on the thing. He asked me straight up if I was carrying, and I told him yes I had a CHL. Thats when he told me the other stuff. I asked him if he had problem with it and he did not.

Mutual respect can bridge chasms between life paths, and I greatly admire your outreach ministry.
I also suspect your friend may have more 99% material in his heart than he would care to admit to his fellow 1%ers.
