make sure you check the legality on adding more shell capacity. For imported firearms you are limited in features to the point system. I'm not an expert but know it is something to be checked out. Adding extra capacity could put you over in points and make it an "illegal" gun. If it puts you over in points the only way to remedy the situation is to replace enough parts with american made pieces so that it is not considered an import anymore.

And Glock 17s have to have cheap adjustable sights to be imported and then they are swappped out in GA. (And triggers that you can have swapped out if you don't like the stock ones required for the importation of Glocks)

if you replace stocks, magazines, or other parts, (on any import, like AK/SKS or Saiga shotgun etc etc) be sure to use AMERICAN MADE parts, to comply with U.S. Code - Title 18 - Part 1 - Chapter 44 - § 922(r)

Example: Saiga Semi-Auto shotgun (based on AK design), throw away the imported Russian 4 round imported magazine, replace with 15 round American made magazine, or 20-round drum Made in America Magazine (I believe that counts as 3 parts, mag, follower and floorplate on a standard mag) If you replace it with a foreign made imported magazine, it may be illegal. (Seems that just replacing an imported mag with an American made mag, makes the Saiga legal by replacing those 3 parts (which make up the magazine) YMMV, depending on how many parts are "imported" on your particular shotgun/rifle brand+model. So, in order to divert it from "sporting use" to a different use (putting a pistol grip folding stock on it) you must also replace the magazine it seems.

So, I finally got to take the Escort to the range. I was pleased. It patterned evenly and shot well. There was less felt recoil than I expected from a light weight shotgun. No issues whatsoever on the firing line. I heartily recommend this shotgun as a great value for the money.

That's not an Escort feature. I believe the Cobra Tristar, or something of that nature, is the one with the spring-assisted pump.

The nice UPS guy brought me a box from Midway today, containing some new rounds to test out in the Escort. I bought 20 rounds each of the 1.75" Aguila Minishells and the 2" Centurion Mini-Buckshot.

First, I tried the Aguila for capacity. The Escort has a 5+1 capacity with 2 3/4" shells. With the Aguilas, the capacity increased to 10+1. I then cycled them through the shotgun...or I tried to. The first Aguila fed perfectly. After that, every single one double-fed. No-go for the Escort.

Next, I tried the Centurions. Being 1/4" longer, capacity was only 7+1. Not as good as the Aguilas, but still better than the normal shells. Fortunately, the Escort fed the Centurions flawlessly. I ran 3 or 4 full tubes through as fast as I could cycle the action with no binding, double-feeds, or other malfunctions.

I am hoping to get to the range on Saturday and test these out. If they perform well while being fired, I will probably switch to these for my go-to load for home defense. I am hoping that, in addition to the increased capacity, the Centurions will give lower recoil, allowing faster follow-up shots for me, as well as making it more comfortable for my wife to shoot.
