If you haven't already, all you punctuation lovers should check out "Eats Shoots and Leaves," by Lynne Truss. You only need to add commas to the book title (eats, shoots, and leaves) to describe what may be bad behavior at a picnic.

Improper use of punctuation can make your message unclear, and identifies the writer as uneducated. By using correct punctuation and proper use of commas, You can make the message clear and unmistakable.

Another example of the importance of punctuation.
Male version:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing!!"
Female version:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing!!"

Male version:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing!!"
Female version:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing!!"

Actually, I'm pretty sure he was implying.
