Slight thread jack, but does anyone know how to go about fixing a DD214 that is missing ribbons? There were some unit citations that never made it on to my DD214.

I'm not sure Unit Citations appear on the DD214, unless you were a member of the unit at the time of the award. I could be wrong, but I have no unit citations on any of my four DD214s, yet the 101st Airborne Div. had a Presidential Unit Citation, and two Vietnamese Unit Citations issued prior to my arrival. You may want to call or email your branch's record center to confirm.

In any case, if you think they should be on your DD214, you must request a DD215 (this corrects the DD214). Here is the form. I am going though the process right now for a particular award, and the reply I got after several weeks was that it may be as much as 1 year for it to be reviewed.

We had gotten an Outstanding Unit award while I was in, yet when I got out, there was no record of it. I'll check out the 215!
