Hello ladies. I am from out of state and all I was planning to do was browse your nice forum. But I had to register to tell you that this is a very funny thread. You ladies down there in Texas have a sense of humor, and a great forum going. Now it almost takes a funeral to get me into a pair of pantie hose, if then. I'll go out and buy tanning lotion or wear a longer skirt, or boots with socks(in the fall)..... Just about anything to avoid those pantyhose. We are extremely casual in the Midwest, at least as compared to you southern belles. But it is always good to know how this might work.

Yeah, me too. Only it would have to be MY funeral, cause that's the only way you could get into a pair of panty hose again. I'm pretty sure those things were designed by the devil.

I thought they were pure evil until I discovered that they could be used as a concealment option.
I don't think thugs expect the lady wearing a church skirt and jacket to be packing.

Pantyhose for women these days seems like ties for men.

They both were designed by satan himself. :)

Smartcarry is what you ladies should really look into.

I persally think the carry method of choice for anyone is the method that works so well the person carries all the time where legal.

Carry options are like guns very personal and I am greatful there are many options to choose from.

Okay, I'm obviously wayyyyy behind the learning curve here...what is Smartcarry? I've kinda been thinking about something besides purse carry (makes me really nervous!), and I do skirts and pantyhose quite a bit--it's a dress code thing. Anyway, sounds like Smartcarry might be worth investigating...? Thanks for any/all info!

OK, I just now saw this thread and I had to ask a simple question.
Isn't concealed carry illegal in church?
When I got my license it was. I've been hoping that would change, maybe it has and I didn't notice.
Thanks

Nope. The church has to be 30.06 posted or you have to have been given notice under 30.06. Here is a good thread on carrying in church http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... urch+carry

OK, maybe I'm dead wrong, but read Texas Penal Code Section 46.035(b)(6) which says that it's illegal to carry concealed on the premises of a place of worship. It's one of the long list of places where you cannot carry regardless of whether the 30.06 sign is posted.
If I am wrong about this, someone please tell me why this section of the Penal Code requires a 30.06 sign while all of the other places in the same list don't. The clear wording of the law just doesn't say anything about a requirement for a sign in a church.

Continue reading further and it says:

(i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.

OK, Keith, I see what you are saying. Why, then, are those places even listed in the law? A church is then just like any other place where you can carry. You can carry there IF you are not given a 30.06 notice, just like anyplace else (except for a few specified places). So why even list it? Now I'm really confused, and I've had my license for a long time.

When the law was changed a few years ago (can't remember the year) to require 30.06 on these locations, they took the easy road and added subsection (i) instead of rewording the other parts of the section.

Hmmm, well maybe after all these years I can finally start carrying at church. I hope some little old lady doesn't hug me and feel my gun and start a big stink to get a 30.06 sign posted!
