Thanks again all. Well, it ended a little better. Found someone who came out and replaced the springs at a reasonable price and then went out with my wife, daughter and daughter's boyfriend for a nice dinner. Now time to hit the sack and get ready for the snow tomorrow. Maybe I can get someone to shovel my drive for me for my birthday present! LOL

Sorry I missed yer BDay, but Happy Belated! Glad to hear your Garage Door was remedied. My folks recently bought a belt driven opener (as opposed to the standard chain driven) and it is amazing. quiet, fast (not crazy fast, just expedient), and did I mention quiet? if you're not standing *in* the garage, you can't hear it going up nor down!
