Why does anyone do business with those WBC "people"? I kinda want to move there and become a store manager so I can tell them that they aren't welcome here. I know that they can grow their own food and all, but it would bring me great satisfaction to make their lives a bit more difficult on a daily bassis.

I'm sure someone wiser than me will come around and point out the error of my thinking, but this group sullies the name of human, Christian, American, um... Kansas-ian, food-eaters, and anything else they're in. They even manage to give "groups" a bad name!

I wonder if they'd be thanking God for the shooter if somebody opened fire on their protest considering that is the logic they use.

I'm sure they'd find a way to spin it to their advantage ... I've often thought perhaps they want to be "martyred" for their "cause" .... if someone kills one of them, that someone will just be their newest example of the supposed degredation of our society

As for why we allow them to get away with it, there is still a part of me (buried deep down under my blood-boiling anger at these people) that realizes that tolerating these "things" (good use of that term, btw ) epitomizes what IS great about this country. As the quote in my tagline below states, the ultimate representation of freedom is allowing those you most despise to freely express their beliefs. Of course, nothing about our freedom says we can't also repudiate them and refuse to associate with them or need to give their mental spew any further thought whatsoever. They are simply free to say it and we are free to ignore it or say that it is the most disgustingly evil thing we've ever heard.

Personally, I put the First Amendment and the Second Amendment on equal footing as the two most important rights we have in a democracy. Without either, democracy ends.

Now with that said, if the Supreme Court says it does not violate their free speech rights to criminalize them for interupting private funeral services then I say

The whole "church" is actualy an extended family whose tree dosen't branch. Lots of banjo playing at meetings. Know what I mean?

I hear what you are saying, I really do but it still bothers me. It bothers me that these things are allowed to get away with this. I think what bothers me most is when someone stands up for what is right and the law of the land sides with those creatures. It really just makes me sick.

I know its not a "church" but the family that deliverance was based on.

Another thing...men and women have and continue to give their lives to protect rights that they themselves do not get to enjoy and this is what is being done with those rights by those that are being fought for.

Just as I expect the moderate Muslims to denounce the fanatic extremists operating under the guise of Islam, I expect mainstream Christians to denounce these fanatic extremists operating under the guise of Christianity.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is expected to sign emergency legislation passed Tuesday that bars protests within 300 feet of a funeral and within an hour from its beginning or end.

In a way I am glad my father and many other men that fought in WWII are not alive today to see what the country they fought for has become.
