I say let them ban all the clips they want. Just leave the magazines alone.
Morons.
Let's not tell them that a clip is something with which women use to put their hair, and a magazine is the spring-loaded holder for ammunition that fits into the receiver of a semi-automatic pistol.

Ban a 30-cartridge magazine and the psychotic-schizophrenic brings 3 firearms each with 10 rounds.
Yes, polls are often bogus.
Ban clips, you have too much hair anyways. Leave magazines alone.

All those polls are feel good polls for people whose minds are made up. Here's
a real poll
Gallup trends on gun control show that Americans have grown less supportive of strengthening gun laws in the United States over the last two decades, notwithstanding a number of tragic gun attacks during that period.
The percentage in favor of making the laws governing the sale of firearms "more strict" fell from 78% in 1990 to 62% in 1995, and 51% in 2007. In the most recent reading, Gallup in 2010 found 44% in favor of stricter laws. In fact, in 2009 and again last year, the slight majority said gun laws should either remain the same or be made less strict.
Trend on Opinions Regarding Gun Laws, 1990-2010
The same pattern is seen with respect to banning average Americans from owning handguns. Support for that proposal has fallen by one-third over the past two decades.
According to Gallup 29% of Americans support more gun control today.

Voted for less restrictions or no to restricting magazine capacities in all the polls that were still open and linked to in the topic.

While this graph shows that 47% of respondents want more strict laws versus 48% that do not want more restrictions, whenever these results are mentioned, the loonies will just talk about 47% versus 12% and ignore the 36% that are fine with the laws as is, thus greatly skewing the collective opinion of the respondents. Logic isn't good enough for them.

Exactly, so (36+12=) 48% want same as now or less strict, and
only 47% want more strict

Thanks, I voted so when it's on the news tonight announcing over half of America wants them banned .... it won't include me as one who reacted with emotions rather than facts.

Sorry, but that's not what the poll means. At best all it means is that 47% of a self-selected audience wants something they believe is more strict regulation. In other words, this poll means next to nothing. It is only a propaganda tool, or essentially, just a somewhat clever lie, since a lot of people who are ignorant of statistics and how polls work will believe it has meaning. I'm actually surprised the antigun-nut number isn't higher, since I'd expect the respondents to mostly be comprised of their usual liberal audience plus those recruited to obtain the desired results.

The respondents in no way represent the average American, as only those who go to CNN for news, or those alerted to the poll by issue groups, blogs, or forums have responded. If you agree that CNN's audience is "mainly" liberal in their views, then all you have is a poll of people with mainly liberal views. Therefore, I'm surprised that the percentage leaning for more strict regulation is as low as 47%.
