However, this rifle will probably be religated to being a safe queen as I only have so much spare time for the range and keeping the 3 gun equipment dialed in and me all practiced up.

Green is my color...want to sell it? Does it not qualify for the 3-gun matches or is the caliber an issue since its not a rifle caliber?
To answer your question.....3 gun involves more than the run and gun stuff. In the big matches you can find yourself engaging plates at 4-500 yards....so the 9MM just does not have enough power to contend. Rick

I don't know what kind we used in the Navy, but there was one we used for SESAMS/SIMUNITIONS... it was 9mm, used a modified mag (Which I know you didn't want), and in the few hundred rounds I fired, I had zero misfeeds/misfires/FTE/FTF...
GRANTED: They may be designed for lower pressures since they were shooting a hunk of wax rather than lead, so I'd imagine that the PSI was considerably lower than that of a regular 9mm bullet, but I don't know if the barrels could take a standard 9mm or not.

That is cool. I heard of simunition before but never have seen a 9mm only 5.56.

Won't do it. You can't make me! Suggesting a weapon for someone I don't know is like setting up a blind date based on written descriptions of the date! Not a good idea on my part! LOL
Seriously though, there is a wealth of experience to learn from here. A great deal of knowledge and practice. You would be foolish to disregard the info available. However when it comes down to it,
put the steel in your hands and send rounds downrange yourself before you decide. A weapon can be universally described as the best in the world, but if it doesn't fit you, it's worthless. Take your time and do the research. You'll be much happier in the end. Good Luck!

Oh I know I want one, but I want one to run 100% and I/m trying to avoid any headaches others have experienced with some finicky rifles and mags. Thanks for the info and keep it coming if you can

That thing is not cheap. I ended up making a trade and getting what I wanted. I shot it yesterday and it ran great. Thanks for all the info and links. I'll shoot it some more and post some pics and targets.

I am also thinking I want a 9mm. I have decided on RRA LAr-9 A4 Mid length complete rifle. Any Good or bad to say about Rock River?

I built my 5.56 AR from RRA parts (excluding the stripped lower, which is CMMG), and I've had no problems with mine. I've got around 1300 rounds through mine now, and it's a good shooter. I've heard rumors that they had QC issues at some point, but that was some significant amount of time ago.

My rifle I traded for is a complete Rock River rifle. I think their overall fit and finish is just fine and I have no complaints about my set up at all. I have yet to test for accuracy or max effective distance but in due time. This darn rifle caused me to have to order a few more cases of ammo
