Its been about 5 years, but I always had good luck at Power Horn. David Day and the bearded gentleman with glasses (fellow StMU alum) were always more than helpful and willing to work with the price.
Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

I have found the guns at Cabelas in Buda( long drive) change alot during the month. You might find a sr9-c for 490 on saturday and 390 on tuesday. I call and ask for the price when tracking a firearm price, they often tell me when the price drop will be.

I live down the road a bit from Texas guns. Sad to see I'm not the only one with a bad experience there. I went in for some defensive ammo for my 1911, mainly to see what was available locally and check prices. The younger guy behind the counter acted like he didn't know what a 1911 was. So I spelled it out. I need .45 caliber ammo.

He points at several different boxes scattered behind the counter. .45 glaser? .45-70? Some kind of rimmed .45 for a revolver? :???: I gave up. I asked about some Wilson mags. He pointed at a wall of magazines. He wasn't even going to guess at which one was for a 1911.

The owner will flat out ignore you if you ask him about a gun, yet jump right on other people to help them. Maybe I'm not FUDD enough??

Ridiculous prices and horrid customer service. I don't know how he stays in business.

On the other hand, Dury's (sp?) had great service. Went there for some gunsmithing. A little more expensive, but very professional and organized.
