I just got off the phone with our regular vet after he consulted with the emergency vet. Her case is hopeless, and we're on our way over there in a few minutes to have her put to sleep. She gave us 15 good years. She's been a great dog. I can't type any more.

Chris, I'm sorry for your loss.

We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers! It never ceases to amaze me how these "beasts" can weave their way into our families and hearts. They become our "family" like another child - that you don't have to send to college! We will be thinking about you and the Mrs. during this difficult time!

sorry to hear about your family member. The only consolation that I can give is that she's at peace.
something similar happened to a friend of mine, not long ago. I told them, and maybe this can apply to you, as well, that this can be an opportunity for you to rescue a new loved one from a shelter, or raise up a pup in what is obviously a good home.

When questioned by a Harris County deputy, 45-year-old Floyd Robinson Jr. claimed he was just walking the dog. He was arrested at the scene.

I would bet that one of the deputy's first questions was: When was the last time you were in Jail?
If the story is straight, he needs to spend some more time inside.

It is always a hard decision and even harder act to perform. I don't look forward to the day when I have to do that for my two mutts. They are both 1/2 Labrador and are almost 1/2 as old as their life expectancy.
My sympathies to you and your family.
