I'll add a +1 on both the broken follower and the manner in which CS took care of it.

I noticed mine was broken when my P40 started to fail to lock back when the magazine was empty.
My son and I had shot about 80 rounds at the range that day when it started. I didn't have a spare with me, so
I just put it away and started with my SW Model 19 (man I love that gun). When I got home, I called CS
and was on the line less than 5 minutes. I had expected to buy the follower, but they shipped it to me for free.

Shhh...don't tell that to the Kimber fan boys.

I've heard this too though, but mine has been 100% out of the box. It was a more recent build though (P380 purchased NIB 12/09).

FWIW, my PM40 took about 200 rounds to break in to the point of zero malfunctions. How much of that was Kahr's fault and how much was mine is hard to say because many of the malfunctions were due to collisions between parts of my big mitts and the little controls on the pistol.

My newer PM45 took about 50, quite possibly due to the fact that I've gotten the grip adjustment techniques for the little Kahrs down to a habit.

I have a PM9 and feel the same way. It is a small tight gun and needs to be handled as such. I've put over 900 rounds through mine and it just swallows the ammo now. I know when to clean it to keep it maintained. It starts to get finiky at about 180 rounds.

I replaced my Glock 27 with it. I never even considered that the Glock wouldn't be reliable and didn't worry about a cleaning schedule. The Kahr is quite a bit smaller and I have to baby it a bit more but it is worth it.

When my wife bought mine, we knew next to nothing about Kahrs.
We knew one of the guys we went to the range with in Florda wanted one.
We knew one of the guys who worked for me in Florida had bought one after
we moved to Texas. And after she bought it, we did some research and knew
that there were some very vocal people who had some issues with their P40.

I was afraid I'd have FTL issues with it. I had an issue on my first trip to the range,
but it was me. I had limp writed it a few times. I had 2 or 3 issues where it chambered
but didn't return to battery. A quick tap and it returned to battery and fired when I pulled the
trigger. I've adjusted my grip and it now fires 100% of the time for me. I also had the
broken follower that caused it to not lock open on an empty magazine. But that was quickly
fixed and for free. I've got no issues at all with Kahr's CS.

I've never fired more than a couple hundred rounds at a time with it, because I'm normally
shooting 3 or 4 different guns when I go. But I trust it well enough for it to be my carry
piece every day.

I've got a friend who shoots Glock. He gives me grief about only having 6+1 rounds.
But the way I look at it is that I've got a spare magazine, and a box of rounds in my glove box.
My 7 rounds should be enough to get me and mine out of harms way, in all but the worst situations.
And if a situation is that bad, I probably should have seen the signs and been heading to the truck
before I needed the 7 rounds.
