Every time I read about one of those elitists like Bloomberg and their attitude towards firearms in regards to us "flyover country clingers", I am reminded why I made sure to get myself and my family back to Texas as soon as I "retired" from the Air Force...God Bless Texas.

Blah, Blah, Blah!!!

Notice the way the poll is worded. Nothing about the people having guns to battle the "fight against crime."

Should private ownership of guns be banned completely?
Yes, it would be a giant step forward in the fight against crime.
No, guns are too much a part of American culture and history.

I wish I had a pet bird. I could use the NY Daily News to line the bottom of the cage.
Why make the bird suffer too?

Bloomberg has his fan base. Even with all of his money, he did not elect himself as Mayor of Gotham. These people deserve each other. Our mission is to let them do unto each other as they do unto each other and convince them to stay in Gotham where are no fire ants.

No more posts about how great Texas is, please. Leave these cretins where they are...on both coasts.

Unfortunately he has fixed NY and NJ too - just the way that he likes them. He and his Elite friends have guns and no one else is allowed. Did you see the list of who does have guns in NY? It is a "who's who" list. We are just the commoner riff-raft and not allowed to aspire to gun ownership.

Mayor Bloomburg should read the last few pages of 1984. He might find a precisely worded self-portrait.

And do not forget gang bangers. NJ is not the safest place you would love to visit. Starting from Camden.

We spent 3 years (to the day) living about 20 miles from Newark. Before that, I worked in downtown Phila and had lots to trips into Camden. Between the two, I'll take Camden any day. It is bad - Newark is much worse, IMHO.

The investigators bought Sig Sauer and Smith & Wesson 9-mm. semiautomatics with high-capacity magazines, even after telling the gun dealers they "probably couldn't pass" a background check. Gun shows are exempt from background checks, but vendors can't legally sell to anyone they think is prohibited from buying them.
Here is an example of outright deliberate misinformation designed to mislead the general public and gain support for laws to "close the gun show loop hole". The New York Daily News simply made up a "loop hole" that doesn't exist.

We need to close the cop "loophole" that allows NYC police to carry "big clips", aka over 10 round capacity magazines. There's also the "cop loophole" that allows them to carry machineguns made after 1986.

Did you know there's also a loophole that allows cops that are convicted felons to carry? Granted, there aren't that many of them, but it is technically legal under GCA '68.

According to a list I saw the other day of the ten worst US cities for crime, Newark was #7 --#8 when just considering the murder rate. When I looked up the cities with the highest murder rates New Jersey seemed disproportionately represented in the top 100. This site has Camden, Irvington, and Newark in the top ten, Trenton in the top 20, and Jersey City, Atlantic City, Paterson, and Asbury Park in the top 50 --thats 8 of the top 50. This site may be questionable, but Newark seems to make the top ten of every list I've seen.
