I hope so. The regular session ends next month so I'm starting to worry.

The crime stats for 2010 at UT Arlington are not much better. Mostly assaults and robberies for laptops, cell phones etc. It is a steadily declining part of town that I must frequent during the early morning hours so I'm really crossing my fingers on these bills.

Thank you to all involved in helping to move these through as quickly and cleanly as possible :tiphat:

How bad is it at UTD or UTEP? I don't think I would want to attend either unless I was packing.

And at UT Austin, I would need something just to protect me from all of the "angry liberals". "rlol" "rlol"

I have visited UTD for a few seminars and was more concerned for the safety of my truck more so than myself. El Paso I would walk to class low ready.

How bad is it at El Paso? My experience is that it is probably the safest of the major cities of Texas, and that reason that the reps from from there aren't as supportive of the campus carry is that they don't understand the high crime of the other inner city universities.

Cleary reports are generally old outdated info used for Stats.

Up to date Info I get by Googling "whichever college police Dept" then look for Alerts

Burglary of Vehicles
The University Police department has seen an increase in burglary of vehicles in March
on the university campus.
Please store your gun in the vehicle prior to entering library. Thank you

I wonder why campus vehicle burglaries increased EVERYWHERE.

I'm curious if they are higher on Tues+Thurs with longer class times ... gives more time if a gun safe is screwed to a console/floor/under dash etc. more time to pop a trunk lock ...

It's just my personal opinion regarding El Paso as a whole. I am city profiling, forgive me for I still like the hot sauce. Anyway, on topic, there is very little time for the session to complete I understand so I will be glued to the screen until we all get an answer.

You would also want to watch out for the gangs who are preying on the students living and traveling around West Campus. After my son had the pleasure of being one wall between him and a cold blooded murder by gang bangers, I won a law suit against his apartment complex for the lease agreement and moved him out of there. I went down there with a video camera and could not believe all the gang tagging I found. It was literally everywhere. That was about five years ago. I hope things have gotten better. I hated him not being able to carry concealed on campus. It caused him to have to travel unprotected through hell and back. The campus libtards are truly ignorant to the realities of the dangers college students face at that university.

UT-Brownsville hasn't had that many incidents (stats only up to 2009).

Only 2 aggravated assaults and 4 motor vehicle thefts on the main campus in 2009.

UT-Pan American had 16 burglaries and 7 MV thefts in 2009.

I think this has to do with the majority of students who travel, as opposed to live on campus.

Or maybe our BG's are dumber than average.

for 2010 2011 you can find out by checking each month's ... those 24 repoert/crime logs/alerts at most college police dept sites

UT-Brownsville
I didn't go through 2010's
but 2011 the main thing is burglary of vehicle (Ipod, etc, criminals couldn't find gun yet, so they'll keep trying until they do) and a couple forgeries and criminal mischief

Thanks. Was tired last night when I posted.

Any way to find the comparison of crme on campuses populatin wise vs.the general city pop.?

I'd love to see comparitive numbers to see if they really are "safer".
