We're Presbyterian so not only will we carry at least three guns on us at all times in other churches, we carry a Scottish rung (a shillelagh) to convince you of your sins...

Orginally, I had the same issue and deleted my post. Later on I found out that you have to set your forum preferences for daylight savings time and be logged in to get the correct time and date.

WildBill wrote:I am invited to my cousin’s wedding next Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Arlen and I want to carry my 1911 inside the church during the wedding, but I am worried about the Church Reciprocity Law. I want to be legal, but I am not sure about the reciprocity laws regarding church carry. My CHL instructor said that the Baptists had reverse-reciprocity with the Methodists, but not vice versa. He said that if I were a Baptist I could carry in a Methodist church in addition to carrying in a Baptist Church, but since I am a Methodist, I can only carry in a Methodist church and not a Baptist one.

I am still a little confused and wanted some more clarification on this matter so I called the DPS in Austin and had a very short conversation with a DPS Trooper, but after I asked the question we were cut off so I never got an answer. When I tried to call back the phone just kept ringing.

I am taking my girlfriend to the wedding. She has a CHL too, but since she is Jewish and can’t carry on the Sabbath in a church, so I don’t know what to do. Since the church is in a bad section of town I don’t want to go to the wedding without being armed. Please can anybody help?
Yes I can help.
Tell your cousin not to get married. At times, it is like being pecked to death by a duck.

Glad I read here first.

On a kayak fishing forum a guy posted about a water moccasin swimming up to his kayak with a frog in his mouth. He grabbed it behind the head since the snake's mouth was occupied, got the frog to use as bait, but was left with "What do I do with the snake?" so he poured a shot of whiskey in it's mouth and threw it overboard. Minutes later the snake swam back with 2 frogs ....lots of replies, but I'm the first that said "April Fools huh?"

Too late. I mean, no comment.

To set the record straight, I have no unmarried cousins; the cousins I have are not Baptist. I don't carry a 1911. There is no such town as Arlen, Texas so there is no "First Baptist Church" there. I got the name of the town from the old TV show "King of The Hill". My CHL instructor talked about church carry and the requirements for 30.06 posting and did not mention "Church Reciprocity". I am not a Methodist, I don't have a Jewish girlfriend and I have never called the DPS. Other than that, everything else in post is true. :biggrinjester:

Well, I had to ask, I currently am in a town where after high school everyone leaves, until they come back to go in a nursing home. :???:
