Keith, it could be the .40, but it also could be that it is a Sigma, even it is better than what we all know the Sigma to be like, it still has the same name SW40VE
But for $300, my guess is you will sell it soon

Yeah, I am aware of the 'Sigma Stigma', but I really think these guns get more of a bad rap than they deserve. Yes, the guns out of the box have a heavy and gritty trigger, but that is really the only negative about them. Personally, I think the grip is better designed than the Gen 3 or earlier Glocks due being a little thinner and having a longer backstraps and more of a beaver tail (no 'Glock bite'). Additionally, they have a fully supported barrel and chamber so will handle heavier loads (aka hotter rounds or reloads) than a Glock barrel. Plus, the price is $200 cheaper, so if you don't mind the longer and slightly heavier 'double action revolver' like trigger pull, then they are a bargain.

As a note, I tried out one of the newer Smith and Wesson SD models today. It has just as heavy a trigger as the Sigma. The only thing I could see they changed over the Sigma was the slide more resembles the M&P and they have a front night sight. Internals all look like the Sigma, but the street price is about $150 more than the Sigma.

So, yeah, it ain't a Glock or M&P, but is much cheaper. And for a truck or more of a knock-around gun, they are pretty good IMO.

And, not trying the hard sell because it is mine, just stating my observations. If it wasn't the last .40 in my collection, I would keep it. ;-)

That's a nice looking .40 and if I hadn't bought so much lately, I would be tempted. I think the current price is a steal for some lucky person!
