Simply not true. There is nothing today (in the law) preventing a CHL from carrying on the campus. Only the buildings are off-limits.

Why carry if you cannot enter the buildings? The point is that you still have to disarm.

If Texas A&M is opposed to it I think it's safe to say a majority at most universities oppose it, or at least those making such statements can come up with polls like this one that support their position. As far as I can tell, most university students don't care since it doesn't affect them and many more blindly oppose it because their professors et al show them the "enlightened way."

When there is a drunk driving tragedy, you don't hear claims that drunk cops is the solution. Yet, when it comes to armed robbery, we seem to think that allowing cops to carry guns will lead to a good, rather than bloody outcome.

Those are all really good points. I don't usually go here, but I wonder if anyone would have the... guts? lack of wisdom?... to throw out an additional analogy: ask Senator Ellis if the other diners should be allowed to approve of whether or not blacks get to dine @ the lunch counter...
