In addition to the above, here's John Woods post, just do the opposite

He lists additional Senators to call there

Call, call, call.
Call Sen. Hinojosa's office and politely ask him to suspend house rules today and put this up for a vote. Even if he votes against it.
Then call your Senator and ask them to vote for it.
The local and uncontested calendar is now, and the reg. order of business starts at 10.

Another start to a new day, drop off the kiddo, come to work, drink a cup of coffee, call my senator plus Hinojosa, wait... did I forget something? Dang it! Left my sack lunch at home. Will just have to call John Woods' list to make up for it.
Update: Senator Hinojosa's friendly staffer, Oscar, explained his negative committee vote as a response to hearing from more student and administrator opponents to campus carry. If that's his reason, then let him hear from more campus carry supporters.

I can't get through for some reason. I'll try again before the session starts.

it got out of committee,
Wentworth
needs 21 votes to get it on the floor, has 20 votes.
People need to write/call/fax
all Senators. Vote to suspend the rules and vote for Personal Protection on Campus SB 354 without any further opt-out amendments.

So, based on the Dallas Morning News (Tuesday morning) Lucio is the only possible "yes" vote that would move us from 20 to 21. And, Lucio will only vote yes with an opt-out provision

I am wondering if this is the end of the line.

Inundate his office with calls. 512-463-0127.
Be courteous, let them know the facts.

Decided to call Lucio's office - good conversation with a staffer - said that Lucio will only vote yes if the entire Kingsville university is exempt (said the High School and the university are so integrated (cafeteria, common areas, etc.) that there is no way to effectively segment out those two campus. Staffer stated the current amendment would allow certain buildings to be posted (but not the whole campus).
Lucio will vote "no" unless he can exempt the entire campus. I am sure Wentworth is concerned that if he allows that exemption then every other university will want some type exemption . . . so, it does not look good right now.

If he said "University" that means Texas A&M-Kingsville and the Early College Program.
I think he's treading on thin ice here. The wording on this will have to be very specific as not to compromise the integrity of the bill.

I'm not giving up because if I have to send my 2 daughters to an "online college" from another State where it isn't "ILLEGAL" to carry a "rape prevention kit" and they live in a "virtual dorm" ... I'll still have to feed them.

Also, I'd need a bumper sticker "
MY MONEY AND MY DAUGHTERS GO TO WWW. U in Virginia "
