I think you did good. Especially for a 1st post. Welcome. Does anyone know if this is Hyundai corporate policy or decided by their individual dealerships?Scotth220 wrote:Hub hyndai in Houston has a notice about no concealed carry. Informed the manager that I will not be purchasing a car from them and walked out...
Of course that was after I showed him my approval paperwork from the bank. He was not happy.. He was trying everything to get me back in the building.. Told him I would, but since I am carrying, I don't want to break their rules. Bye...
I've had/have several Hyundai's from several dealerships in East Texas and in the DFW megaplex - never saw a 30.06 posting either where we bought or where we have serviced. Some red slash / no guns but never a formal sign. I would like to have the OP come back on line to describe what it was they saw. Does anyone live in west Houston that can see what the dealership has posted? How did the OP get to the point of showing a manager the pre-approval, bypassing a salesperson, and get inside the building, without seeing the 30.06 sign at the entrance?gemini wrote:Does anyone know if this is Hyundai corporate policy or decided by their individual dealerships?
My wife needs a new car, and we were actually going to look at a Genesis sedan. This will make a difference where we look / spend money.
Thanks for the clarification, Pop.Pawpaw wrote:No, it would not.RottenApple wrote:Would verbally outing your CC to someone be considered intentional failure to conceal? If so, then there's the charge.ScottDLS wrote:OK, so what would be the charges?
Note that the offense occurs when one "intentionally fails to conceal the handgun". It says nothing about intentionally failing to conceal the fact that you have a handgun.PC ยง46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE
HOLDER. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license
holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person
under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code,
and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun.
You can buy them from TSRAgemini wrote:Classic. Will be printing these when I get my plastic
actually the quote "classic" is from jasonw560....... but I have always liked the message the cards send.Teamless wrote:You can buy them from TSRAgemini wrote:Classic. Will be printing these when I get my plastic
I bought a pack last year, haven't see a sign yet (other than gun shows) and no need dropping them off there!
I bet that gun show was posted 30.06, while I bet that Hyundai dealership wasn't. I wonder why so many members are fine with 30.06 posted gun shows while they gripe about a Chuck E. Cheese with a gunbuster sign.Teamless wrote:You can buy them from TSRAgemini wrote:Classic. Will be printing these when I get my plastic

That's where we disagree. These card's do not inform the business that their signs are not compliant. So I think should be no problem handing them out to businesses with gun busters.Embalmo wrote:Just make sure that you only give them out to businesses that are putting up compliant signs.
I am not happy at all with posted gun shows, especially as the ones I go to are at city buildings ---- and NO I am not willing to be a test case.Embalmo wrote: I wonder why so many members are fine with 30.06 posted gun shows
Oh no! Here they go again.terryg wrote:That's where we disagree. These card's do not inform the business that their signs are not compliant. It will let them know that they are losing business from those of us who choose to not shop there. And it will can only help reinforce the wrongheaded idea that the signs, even though we know they are not legally binding, do keep the unwanted guns out. Then those CHL holders, who like Embalmo, choose to shop anyway can continue to do so without any interference.
Everybody wins. You can continue to shop and we can continue to let them know they are losing our business.
I'm not saying you can't do what you want-It's just that those cards cost money to produce, so why waste them on businesses who allow legal carry? Kinda' like paying for medicine when you're not sick. I'm not sure that the OP knows that 30.06 are the only signs that matter. I wouldn't want anyone to get false information.terryg wrote:That's where we disagree. These card's do not inform the business that their signs are not compliant.
