1. Ed Brown Special Forces Carry
2. Springfield Socom II
3. S&W 686
4. AK-47 with wood finish
5. Remington 870

I'm still new in my gun ownership career, I'll need to refine that list through experimentation.

In no particular order and not choosing unreasonably expensive guns:

1. Glock 17 or 22 (check, check)
2. Rem 870 (check)
3. RRA AR-15 (check, plus another Bushmaster AR)
4. Rem 700
5. Mp5, single fire

I'll play too.

1)CZ75 9mm with good sights
2)Springfield SOCOM II
3)Ruger 10/22 with a 3-9x scope
4)20" AR15 A2
5)3" GP100/S&W 686 in .357mag

To be honest I could do with out the AR if the SOCOM came with PLENTY of ammo.

1. AR-15 with uppers for 5.56, 7.62, and .450. (Does this count as only 1 gun?)
2. Glock 26
3. Mossberg 500 with Pistol Grip
4. Calico M950 with 50 and 100 round mags
5. S&W 642

The good news is that I already have all of these (except the extra uppers for the AR)

The REALLY good news is that I don't actually need to limit myself to just 5 guns.

OK OK I'll play along

1. LaRue Tactical OBR 7.62mm (.308) with Nightforce 10X main scope and a pair of Aimpoint Micros on 1 o'clock mounts on each side of quad rail. With a box of 20-round mags and 10,000 rounds of 7.62 NATO and at least 500 rounds of Hornady TAP 7.62mm

2. authentic GI issue Colt 1911 from either WWI or WWII era in used and worn but still functional shape and 10,00 rounds of 230-grain .45 ACP ball ammo

3. AA-12 full-auto 12-gauge shotgun with multiple 20-round drum mags and 10,000 12-gauge 00 buck shells - plus a few of those finned grenade rounds

4. Glock 18 with a box full of 33-round mags and a few 17-round mags and 10,000 rounds of 9mm NATO and another 500 rounds of Speer Gold Dot +P 124-grain

5. customized Ruger 10/22 in .22 Magnum with lightweight graphite bull barrel, Boyd-type target stock, 2.5-10mm scope with bullet drop compensator dialed in for .22 Magnum, Harris bipod, a box of 10-round Ruger factory magazines, 50,000 rounds of .22 Magnum match-grade ammo and a field full o varmints
OK, so those were fun to fantasize about yesterday. But today is a new day and I need 5 new guns to fantasize about:

1. Smith & Wesson 625 (probably the Mikulek model) - with Comp Tac IDPA shooter's rig and 25,000 rounds of handloads that hit exactly 165,000 power factor on each and every shot.

2. STI Sentinal Premier hard chromed .45 ACP - with Comp Tac IDPA shooter's rig and 25,000 rounds of handloads that hit exactly 165,000 power factor on each and every shot.

3. A highly customized bolt-gun (Rem 700? Savage? ) with bull barrel, sniper stock, Zeiss scope in a variable power up to about 16x, chambered in .300 Win Mag with 5,000 rounds of custom hand-loaded rounds ... because every once in a while, you wanna reach out and touch something :coolgleamA:

4. M4gery with piston driven system (probably LMT) with an ACOG - because every once in a while you want to burn a few thousands rounds through an AR and not have to clean it later :fire :fire :fire :fire

5. A high-end over/under 20-gauge shotgun (Benelli? Beretta? higher end? ) - don't know nuthin about these, but have always wanted to bust some clays using a $3,000 work of art

Two thoughts:

Sniper rifle: How about an H&K PSG-1? I know it's not a bolt action, and it's .308 Winchester, but still... I'm sure you could find some Zeiss optics for it.

As for the O/U, Go for Benelli. IMHO, overall better. I shot one of my uncles' Benelli's. Very nice.

The PSG-1 is not more than an accurized HK G3 with a bunch of metal welded onto it to make it beefier...also note the only optic that can be mounted on a PSG-1 is the optec that is mounted to it already. As far as I know there are no other options to mount optics b/c the optic and mount are part of the weapon system itself.

That weapon is more famous from video games than actual real world usage.

I like to think that I already own them.
If I had to sell everything and keep five it would be:

Colt Detective Special DS-II
Colt Python .357 Mag
High Standard Supermatic Trophy .22LR
Browning Lightning O/U 12 Gauge
Remington 700 in .308Win
See, that's my approach too. There are guns that I don't already own that I would like to own some day, but all the guns I lusted for, I already own. My list of 5 keepers if I had to get rid of everything else:
  1. Remington 700 VSF .308 for long range work with authority, and taking all manner of north American game.
  2. AR15 Carbine for HD/CQB/small game hunting
  3. Ruger 22/45 4-1/2" Stainless Hunter for plinking/pest control/small game hunting
  4. 5" Model 29 Classic .44 Magnum for....well....just because everybody needs a big bore kick-butt revolver that will put a hurtin' on nearly everything
  5. 5" 1911 Springfield because no 5 gun list is complete without a 5" 1911 (considering commonality and availability of parts) and because .45 ACP makes me smile.
If I could add a sixth, it would be my scandium .357 snubbie because my list is missing a deep concealment pistol. If I could add a seventh, it would be either a Remington or Mossberg pump action 12 gauge because there's a lot to be said for double ought boo-yeah. If I could add one more, it would be a black powder smoke pole of some sort because if reduced to it, you can always make your own gunpowder and pour your own bullets. My son has a pump gun, but I don't. Neither of us owns a black powder rifle.
