And this is why we have a constant struggle. Most conservatives/libertarians just want to be left alone, and to leave others alone. The left KNOWS that their way is right, that its the best thing for "society" and the world, and any obstruction to that better path must be eliminated. By what means depends on the fanaticism of the leftie.
I fear utopianists more than any other type of person, because they're far more likely to justify stringing people up from the lampposts to get there.
I would only differ to say that I would include the moderate left as desiring of being left alone. They differ from conservatives and libertarians only to a matter of degree as to their view of the role of government in our lives. It is the
hard left that always posts this kind of creepy death wish stuff......which is exactly why they are not to be trusted with governance.
I think that the electorate made a HUGE mistake in listening to the siren song of a Saul Alinsky trained community organizer in the last presidential election. I think that a large percentage, perhaps as many as a third of them, had no stinkin' idea that he would
actually set about to transform America into a socialist nation. I think that most of his supporters merely took that to be campaign rhetoric designed to keep his base fired up. I believe they never actually thought that he
meant what he said. Holy cow. When a defective like Mitt Romney actually beats a sitting "president of the people" going into a campaign cycle, that says something. Six months ago, I was ready to concede that Obama might be unbeatable for reelection. Today I'm of the opinion that he could take a terrible beating come November 2012. I am actually optimistic about his defeat.

I guess we do differ there, because I think most moderate Dems and moderate Repubs as being perfectly okay with using govt power to enforce ideas...as long as it is their ideas that are being enforced.
But, being the magnanimous type of person I am, I'm willing to meet them in the middle from my wishful, non realistic ideal of almost no govt and their view on more govt power as long as the "right people are in charge" and maybe we can end up with a nice, small govt compromise.

I don't argue your point, but they are at least trying to follow what
they think the Constitution says....even if they're wrong about it. But the hard left wants to dismantle the Constitution because it stands as a barrier to their goal of domination over the lives of other citizens. If there is a conservative somewhere, some day, who is feeling happy about his life, that makes them angry, and they wish death and destruction on us.
