I really like my XDsc 9mm....shoots better than a small gun should....sometimes I wish I'd waited for the Ruger SR9sc....but a little trigger time with the XDsc washes those thoughts right out.... :coolgleamA:
Howdy y'all. Glad to be here.....

You also might check out the Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact. It has a rail on it, and is pretty dang nice. My wife just picked one up for her daily carry a few weeks back. It didn't break the bank either at 499 from academy, though I'm sure shopping around would yeild a better price.

I test shot both the Glock 26 and the SW M&P9c 9mm.

XDm 9 compact, little longer barrel than the XD but the grip is actually a little shorter. Pretty easy to conceal with an IWB holster. I love mine.

If you are going to need the rail for a laser, I say go for it.

But if you are going to use the rail for a tactical white flashlight, think about how many
people you may sweep with your muzzle when you are using the light.

If your gun didn't have a light, would you still feel as comfortable pointing your firepower
in their direction? Just a thought.

I agree the XDM 9mm compact conceals very well.
Both barrels are the same size on the XDM 3.8 9mm compact and the XD 3.8 9mm with the grip being 1" shorter on the compact.
What I like about the XDM 9mm compact is you can use 3 different grip lengths. I ordered serveral "pinkie"
extensions from "Pearce Grips" for the 13 round clip and they fit well and are comfortable to shoot with.

yes, the 3.8's both have the same barrel length but the OP posted about the XD 9 Subcompact, which is a 3" not a 3.8

I plan on carrying both a regular flashlight as well as a weapon mounted light. I'll drop the flashlight and use only the weapon mounted light when the shooting starts. I just find it impossible to coordinate a flashlight, a gun, and a dog at the same time. Even without the dog, it's extremely difficult.

I had an XD40sc (exact same gun, obviously), and while I loved the gun and its surprisingly great accuracy, I hated carrying it. It just didn't work for me. It's a double-deck bus, and felt like a paperweight on my hip. Getting it to conceal was a joke. I traded in for a Glock 19 (bigger gun, yet thinner and lighter), and couldn't be happier. Conceals like a dream.

I do have to say that I don't really see the point of getting the G26, as the G19 is just a fraction bigger, and you'll have 5 more shots.

You really can't go wrong with either the Glock or Springfield. One thing I miss is having the grip safety.
