I've stopped worrying about any accidental exposure, don't get me wrong, I make sure I'm covered, but not habitually.
I buy Tall shirts when I have the choice, just to have that extra length...
I have to buy extra tall. Tall are just right if I weren't carrying.
Those are real hard to find.

Shoot I walked in Convience Store 2 years ago during the holidays with my 38 on my hip and my jacket in the car. I had gotten hot and forgot my 38 was on my hip. I walked in bought my stuff and walked back out and realized what I had done. Folks just don't pay much attention here in rural parts of Tx. I believe folks thought I was a LEO or just were in another world. I have not made that mistake since but the Man with a gun cry is for Dallas and Houston not rural TX.

Speaking of Dallas... I was at a RaceTrac in Plano not long ago when I saw guy OC'ing while he gassed up. He was professionally dressed with black slacks, and a white dress shirt. His shirt was tucked in and his holster OWB, so there's no way this was an accidental exposure. I don't remember exactly what his shirt looked like except that it had something resembling a badge sewn onto it but was otherwise pretty plain. I remember thinking that a uniform (such as worn by a security guard) would probably have more "stuff" on it, such the company's name embroidered on the sleeve, etc. So to me, his outfit looked too plain to be a uniform, but at the same time appeared to have a badge. He was driving a nice pickup truck, but it was unmarked, so no help there. I considered going into the store to notify the clerk but ultimately decided not to. Why not? This guy looked professional and respectable (ohnoes, profiling!) and was acting perfect normal, as if everything were as it should be, so I decided to leave it alone. I figured that even if he was carrying illegally, A) I didn't want to trample his 2A rights and B) I didn't see any signs that indicated that he was going to actually cause any harm with it. Incidentally, noone else seemed to notice, or if they did, they didn't make an issue of it. There were certainly no cries of "Man with a gun".

I have seen LOTS of Agency's, state and federal that do the Polo shirt deal with a badge "stitched" on. Talking with a few of them, there is department policy, department recommendations but no LAW that says they must to display the badge when in plain cloths on or Off duty and open carrying.
Second hand info so take it for what it is.

Lands End has great, no-iron, x-tall shirts. Could not recommend them more.
