I look for them almost daily and post here and/or on Twitter
sometimes they come in handy, like I responded to a guy on
http://boston.com/community/blogs/crime ... rentPage=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; who said
"guns hurt kids daily, but NEVER are used to stop crime" so I posted about 20 "recent" crime stoppers, couldn't find a "recent" kid hurt ... the guy quit posting
to search, I search both web and news
usually I search "last 24 hours" or "last week"
I search with operator combinations of
shot
burglar
Invasion
invader
intruder
robber
then I scan through and find where good guys win .... but only if they are armed.
I know this was posted in another thread here and someone else here found it, but I love the fact of the licensee sweeping the kids to safety,
Robber who shot a gun during robbery at Barber Shop killed by customer getting a haircut

I also appreciate the posting of these stories. My wife is very squeamish about guns and about me carrying but doesn't want to stop me from carrying. I told her about the Applebees parking lot story and also about another story where the victims gave the BGs their wallets and cellphones and the BGs STILL shot them both!
That one actually got her thinking and she actually asked me if that were to happen to me if she would be justified (or if it would be legal) in taking my gun off me (if I were shot by the BG) and shooting them (I told her it depends on what they do after they shoot me). I was pretty surprised she was thinking like that. She might even be willing to go to the range with me to get more comfortable with the guns (she's been before and hates it, too loud, too much gun powder smells). We'll have to wait about a year though since she's preggers and can't be around the range.

Actually she needs to stay away from indoor ranges. If handled properly she could safely go to an outdoor range without an unacceptable risk of lead exposure, which is the main reason for pregnant women not to go to shooting ranges.
