I use those and yes the 380 seperator does work. 9mm won't fall through.

I have spotted .380 in my mix of 9mm when I sized it. The resistance feels different enough for me to pull the brass and take a look.

A friend of mine had two reloaded rounds he accidently tried to run though his 9mm last weekend. No damage occured the round acted like a misfire, he racked the slide, which ejected the round and continued shooting.
I'm not saying you shouldn't carefully sort, just an interesting data point.

The other bad one to watch out for is getting 38 Super brass mixed with your 9mm. As far as 45Glock/45ACP you should notice that one pretty quick; Glock uses a small primer.

Boy, I wish you'd used that before you sold me that .40 S&W brass -- let's just say I had a lot more .45 and 9mm than expected, and even a few .380s. Not that I'm complaining, I fully intend to reload 45 and 9mm too, so no probs there. You're welcome to come by and pick up these 5 .380 brass pieces though

That's why i don't use .40 S&W or .380, or 9mm...too much of a chance of an oops..

Yeah, no chance of an "oops" with .45 ACP . . . until you are priming .45 ACP and try to cram a large pistol primer into a small pistol primer hole.

I'm surprised it fired. I guess the brass hung on the extractor for headspacing and it held well enough against the firing pin strike.
With the different taper, the 380 loaded to the same length of the 9x19mm will indeed have smaller case volume (note the smaller head size on the 380), but likely not enough to matter and the brass stretch would mostly even it out upon firing (making a pressure spike minimal).
Still, not a good thing. I have my kids help sort brass and maybe I need to be more careful...so far I guess I have been lucky.

Yeah, it was fired in a Ruger SR9c, which has a...um...ROBUST extractor, so I'm sure that's why it fired.
I'm much more careful in sorting now.

Interesting, though that's a good $60 of add-on equipment.
I've not had that problem, as I sort my brass by headstamp anyway.

I think I will pick up one of these. I don't currently load .40 or .45 but get a fair amount of brass that always seems to get mixed up with the .380 and 9mm.
