Fox might. Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann would probably play it as a humorous bit to end the night's show. Assuming, of course, that really is what she said. For all I can tell, she's saying "what a formal flag".

Maybe she's saying "It's nice how they fold the flag." :biggrinjester:

I dont believe myself to be an expert lip reader but it sure does seem to me she said something to the effect...

"All this for a flag?" the the POTUS purses his lips and snidely nods... but who could forget this little gem during the national anthem...

It is great ideological discussions like this that make us conservatives look like idiots. Everyone's rags on about the liberals taking conjecture and turning it into an issue. You are all doing the same thing!

None of you have any idea what she said as you can only see half her mouth behind the edge of a glass wall and the bottom-third on the tv screen.

:iagree:
It's stories like this that make me tune out otherwise worthy issues due to it's pettiness. I've heard of "bush derangement syndrome" but this is getting ridiculous.

Ok, I'm gonna put my $0.02 in on this, but I tried to stay out of it. The flag is an important symbol of our great nation and it represents the men and women, both military and civilian, who have died in service to this great nation. <sarcasm>I guess my speakers are broken on my PC because</sarcasm> I couldn't hear what the first lady said, and I am not able to read lips, especially when they are partially obscured. But lets pretend for a moment that she really did say what she is accused of saying. We can speak out and say what we think about it because of those men and women that died for what that flag represents, just like she has the right to say what she said because of those same people. To begrudge her that right is an insult to those who died for that right, just as much as saying what she said is an insult to those same people. Now with that said, I don't particularly like the President, but I will not stoop to the level of whargarbling over something that his wife might have or might not have said. I have more important issues to be concerned with like what congress and the president plan to do to the economy, how far up the food chain did fast and furious go, what other illegal schemes are going on with elected officials, why I am paying tax rates that our founding fathers would have revolted over, and so on. There are too many real issues to worry about for us to be distracted by this minor "The first lady may have or might not have..."

+1 Can I get an Amen !

While I am all for open and honest discussions this forum seems to go down the path of "What if" way too often. These type of discussions degrade the other content on this forum that is useful. It gets tiring to wade through all the "What if this happened, what if that happened, what would you do" topics, I am about ready to hang it up for this forum and delete the bookmark as this forum has reached the point of being more useless than useful.

AND?!?

Now, for the rest of us that will be remaining...

I can only speak for myself but I believe the sentiment isn't directly based on what she could have or possibly said in her garbled half seen lip movements. I believe the issue is frustration with the pair of them and the blatant disregard for this country and all who strive to uphold the founding documents and the prospect that WAS the republic as set in place 235 years ago. The Obamas and their cohorts blatantly thumb their noses and look down upon us as the poor and huddled masses as if we are the unclean and uneducated. Her statements such as "This is the first time in my life I am proud of my country" set the tone with any American who has either shed blood or who's family has shed blood for her right to make that assanine statement... Given the track record and associations they were groomed by it wouldn't be a far walk to believe she could have made a statement to the OP title.

The majority of the individuals who frequent a forum such as this are honest, upstanding God fearing who love this country and all it represents... That being said I believe there is a under current of trepidation that our republic is unraveling at the seams and although it has been happening for the better part of a century Obama and his band of brothers has done everything they could to expedite the process. It is easy to point at them and say it is their fault when the truth is it is ALL our fault for letting it happen. We sat by working and paying our taxes living our lives while the "Progressives/Collectivists" were slowly methodically undermining the founding documents. We generally believe in fair play and they believe in devious shady word bending.

It is because of this that they are an easy target, the current target, but again... given past practice predicts future performance it isn't a far walk to believe she would have said something derogatory (again) about our nation and one of our coveted symbols "Old Glory"

What I find most offensive is their apparent total lack of decorum, respect and reverence for the ceremony they were attending. To see the current top man in the executive branch eye roll, snide smile and inattention was disrespectful to all in attendance and a poor example of appropriate behavior. The firefighters and Leo’s were at attention as the pipes passed and the flag was folded. They thought it was serious, somber, a moment of reflection and appreciation. Not a time for silliness, intimate chatting and big grins.

FWIW, I agree! You folk are grasping at straws and tilting at windmills. I do not care for the Obamas a lot but good grief, enough is enough

Here's an  for you.
