These guys will be dead soon enough; did you see how much trouble they had opening the door?

BBQ owner comes out of the back, "Why did you shoot Bill? That shotgun was a prop to go on the wall!"

OOPS!

You have to take the totality of the situation into consideration. Be alert, not paranoid.

Crooks are there for the money as fast as they can. Are they gathering up people to move to a cooler? Then you have a bigger problem. Are you the only man? Do you look like a threat to them?

Go watch a bunch of robbery videos and just watch the actions of the robbers as see where the thugs make their mistakes. That is where you make a move, if needed.

It takes a lot of practice and even then it will not go as planned.

I saw many times that the guy on camera could have been taken out, he was not paying attention at many times, BUT the other guy was out of the camera so I can't say that at the times the bad guy on the monitor was vulnerable, he was really vulnerable. It would be two (of them) against one of you, or does your wife carry? Is she willing to kill someone without warning? Does she practice? Do you practice?

Many questions, no absolute answers.
Then bring the shotgun in after hours...especially in this post 9-11 culture.

i should have clarified: i hope i would, too. i say i would with confidence, just based on my past experiences with stressful situations. i run toward car wrecks, even if im not sure i can be of any real assistance. im certified for 'ready when the time comes' disaster recovery programs through american red cross...

i guess i tend to get involved, rather than spectate.

so yes, i hope i would nip a situation like this in the bud, rather than get scared and shy away from confrontation.

i sincerely don't think 'shying away' is in my blood though.

Mexico makes it easy for criminals by not allowing citizens to be armed.

Here in the US, the odds are greater they'd face legal armed resistance.

where does this come from?

A Mexican Citizen "can" own a handgun, rifle, shotgun with a permit from the chief of police in the town they reside it. However, it can not be a military caliber, nor can it be any larger than a .38 caliber.

got a friend that lives with his wife in Puerto PeƱasco, he has a shotgun, a .32 a .380 and a couple of black powder guns.. He says that yes, you have to jump through hoops, but ownership is legal.
I'm sure some type of bribe is involved.

Is there any provision for legal carry?

One good thing about having a lazer sight system. Draw under the table, put the dot center mass & surprize the h3ll out of him.

Guy with the shotgun would have been cake to take out. He wouldn't even stand a chance before you could have 5 rounds in him. We don't know where the other guy was with the handgun, but we did see him preoccupied with both hands carrying something (register)? Sloppy robbery.
