The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1

...not this one...it's all gotta be her idea or she won't play...money's not the problem, motivation is...

Did you or your wife discuss calling 911 while you were in transit?
kjolly wrote:I keep working on wife, however due to childhood incident she is deathly afraid of guns but happy that I carry. A while back she was really sick and I had driven her mother home when she called me as I was on the way back. She had heard someone jiggling the dooorknob. I was only about seven miles from the house and broke several speeding laws on the way back. Kept her on the phone. Slid into drive, scanning the front yard. Hopped out of car and was heading around back when I spotted a chinese menu attached to the doorknob. I'm not sure if I can ever get her to fire a gun but she at least sees the value of it and I would rest better if she could defend herself when I am out.
Zombies rarely ever use the front door.

I am sure that is exactly how she feels about it. :)goheeled wrote:I'm very proud that my wife carries regularly.... probably more often than I do. She became a CHL instructor in April of this year and over the last 12 months has become a very capable shooter. Nice feeling to roll with back-up.

Re: Spouses with CHL
My wife (fiancée at the time) took the class with with my parents several years ago. My brother and his wife took the class together about 1.5 years ago before getting married too. Its a family thing...

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.
Re: Spouses with CHL
I was talking to my wife about this very thing today. She said that she has no interest because she would never carry even if she got it. She said that it's stupid and she's not a parinod freak
I carry, so she must feel that she doesn't need to. She enjoys shooting with me sometimes but she won't take the plunge to actually carry.

I wasn't sure what to answer in the poll, but both hubby and I have gone through CHL class and many other trainings together in the past year. Nothing like having a partner you know and trust!
ETA - both daughters; not yet old enough to get their CHL's do attend many defensive pistol classes with us.

My better half does, but does not carry. I have got her to at least carry pepper spray, and she knows how to use the guns I leave out of the safe for her.
Re: Spouses with CHL
My wife carries, she owns 10 handguns and 7 long guns. If I buy something and she likes it, she gets one.

Do you also have his and hers safes? That must be quite a collection.Sidro wrote:My wife carries, she owns 10 handguns and 7 long guns. If I buy something and she likes it, she gets one.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.
