To answer your question, yes, it is effective notice that they do not want me as a customer...unless this is actually an area that is proscribed to be off limits, under the law, to CHL holders. I am not sure what your hesitance about naming the sporting venue is. If they sent it out, then there is no reason for it to be a secret from the rest of us, right? The only reason to withhold would be if posting it would be possible slander (or is it libel?)...but it can not be either if they sent out this notice.

If the event is a professional sporting event, notice is not required. Such events are already on the prohibited places list. The email was just a reminder, so that the "competitors" are reminded that it's already a prohibited place to be carrying DURING a professional sporting event.
