I suppose, but how many of us are going to bother to disarm just to see what this guy has to offer. I think for most us a 30.06 doesn't mean "Disarm arm before you you enter." but rather "Keep out, stay away" If I don't have to go in, I not only won't go in, but I'm not going to waste time checking to see if the sign is gone later. There are more places than I have time for that want our business and don't post 30.06.
Of course you're right, and I've posted many times myself that I won't knowingly enter a posted business for exactly the same reasons as yours. But, the sign could have been prominently posted behind the cash register, in which case I might not see it immediately, and there is the opportunity. But truthfully, I would be more likely to do like you and simply leave and never come back.

Same as the cops at gun shows. When they give you back your gun and let you in, you have effective consent to carry and can reload and conceal it.

It would not be difficult at all. An offense under 30.06 requires that you BOTH received notice (the sign) AND did not have effective consent. By handing you the gun, the shop is giving you effective consent to have it.
So if I buy a gun at that shop, I can then concealed carry any gun on later visits to that store, or is the effective consent only good for that specific weapon? Or does the effective consent expire at sundown?

I think we'd have to applied some logic to determine the extent of that consent. If a business does not allow concealed carry on its property, what consent is reasonably implied by them selling you a gun? To me, it's reasonable that they grant you consent to do nothing more than carry that gun out of the store.

I don't believe that you may reload it, no - but happy to be proven wrong on this.
Is it reasonable to infer that by putting a zip tie on the gun and handing it back that the officer is consenting to you loading it? I doubt this argument could be won. But it IS reasonable to infer that he is consenting to you carrying it with the zip tie on it as he handed it back to you.

Buckhorn Pawn in Burnet has a sign on the door with a silhouette of a 1911 and this written below:
"Warning!!! Employees and customers may be armed."

I have given up on most gun shows because of their hostility to CHL. It's obviously anti CHL because they don't make LEO disarm if they're shopping in their free time. (I'm giving the LEO the benefit of the doubt that they're goofing off by browsing at a gun show in their free time and not on the clock.)
