A thread wherein someone gets bumped with a shopping cart in Walmart by someone looking sideways at them, or were honked at on the freeway, or some other such trivial nonsense, goes on for days. Yet this travesty that could have long term national impact on all of us and our spawn, gets little play.
Where are our priorities and/or what am I missing?

There is not much to discuss about this. Guys went crazy and killed the ranger. Very sad, but pretty cut and dried.
It wil be no different from the Gabby Gifford shooting or any other shooting. Those that have sense realize the law woildn't have made a difference will outweigh the neysayers.

Agreed. According to
this story from Seattle:
- Barnes was at a party when a fight broke out. Barnes and others fired guns. Four people were hit, two critically. Barnes fled the scene.
- While on the run, Barnes failed to stop at a safety checkpoint in the park. Another park ranger set up a roadblock and stopped him. Barnes fired on her and another LEO while trying to evade capture. He then ran into the woods and drowned.
Allegedly.
The NP CC law is irrelevant if he was a fugitive on the run following a shooting at a party.

I would be interested to know what antidepressants he was taking. There is one or two very common in sudden acts of violence and suicides.
