May DPS include an investigation of 15 years of parenting skills that culminated in the choices this teenage made.

If he had not already had a driver's license, within a few months he might have been driving, and have been operating a 2,000 pound "weapon" on city streets.

Tradegy -- of course -- for the teen, his family, his schoolmates, his community, the first responders and LEOs who corectly took action.

Avoidable -- of course -- but cannot apply a "Couldda, Shouldda, Wouldda" re-do.

And, of course, the "legal consequences" likely will befall the LEOs and school rather than the parents. Some lawyers will be able to buy new boats, 3-wheelers, trucks, rifles, guns, etc., while the hobbists -- who respect the laws AND the pellet/firearm manufacturers will have to "gather 'round the wagons" in defense.

Just my opinion.

No, I don't think so...once its ruled justifiable, which I am certain it will be, a lot of this hubbub will cease. I may sound callous about it, but its just what I think is going to happen.

Did you see the picture of the gun? Pretty convincing. I hate the emphasis on it being a "pellet" gun like that somehow gives the kid a pass. EVERYONE there thought it was a real threat. I guess we'll have to enact policies that responding officers wait until someone is shot, thus verifying an actual weapon, before they act.

On the Advantage sights, they come with all colors
color selector is just to preliminarily play with
http://www.advantagetactical.com/colors.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

When selecting colors, prior to mounting the sights, I tried various lighting situations (backlit, evening, etc etc and also various backgrounds (like you can't predict if a bad guy will be in a black coat or white T shirt ....)
Try some combinations. I tried several before settling. I'm not a fan of the red front they show ...
On all my guns I use the bright orange rear, and bright yellow front ... the yellow contrasts enough with a white shirt etc, is bright enough to contrast with any dark colors, be seen in low light etc ...

But you get all colors and can select whatever you like best .. just do your contrast testing after you get them, and before installing because the XD sights are kinda tight dovetails where Glocks are simpler
