A parcel of property belonging to a friend of mine had a Quit Claim deed filed and owner's address was changed. The Grantor and Grantee are son and father who hold no interest at all in the property and never have. The deed was still in his name but title was granted to the father. He found these guys had done dozens of them and Brewster County played dumb about why they would let someone do that. Why these guys are allowed to play fast and loose with this is still a mystery to him and apparently Brewster County.

So you are working out of state for a couple of months and come home, fully armed, and find someone in your house and shot them......Could happen to one of these scumbags.

Well that would at least simplify the paperwork.

Why is this still legal, anyway? I remember hearing about this I think before the last legislative session. Seems like it'd be an easy loophole to fix.
