faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money ... (Tom T Hall)
I have an old Tom T. Hall 33 LP (if anybody knows what that is) with that song on it. Tom T. is/was a lot more cool than Madonna and that vulgar display at halftime during the Super Bowl.

OOPS! To get back on subject with Sharia law, I suspect it has its roots in our Old Testament or vice versa.

There could only be one reason. They are planning to take over.

It's the mantra these days; ala-cart living. Basically everyone wants to pick and choose what rules they live by and which ones they ignore to do what they want. A good example is the Ten Commandments. I know someone who actually said 'Well, I didn't commit murder, I just committed adultery, so that is not a bad sin; lots of people do it these days.' :banghead:

I suspect the Quran/Koran and Sharia Law is subject to far less individual and/or group interpretation in the Muslim culture than the Bible is in ours.

I think depends on where the iterpreter is living. In parts of the Mideast, you are surely correct. I am not so sure that it applies in every setting. One thing I remind myself of, is that this religion is some 800 years younger than ours and is practiced mainly in parts of the world that have not had the access to freedom of information that we have had. Not in any way excusing the mis-appropriation of a religion for evil purposes, but I cannot throw a blanket condemnation over all Muslims, even though at times it is sorely tempting to. I look at the history of our own religious evolution and can see where Christianity was not always practiced with as tolerant attitude towards an individuals embracing it all.

There is no room in the world for terrorism in the name of any religion.

Look on the bright side. That won't be allowed under Sharia law.

Good point. I don't remember this Canadian murder getting a lot of press in Texas. It does look like there is a lot of coverage in Canadian press about these honor murders.

"...This is NOT to be a discussion about religion, but about the media and it's blatant refusal to honestly report facts that may not be 'politically correct'. "

...yeah, right...sure...look at us...when their "religion" is central to their lives, is their government, is their reason for what they do...we can't intelligently discuss the problem WITHOUT discussing religion...can't be done...

They had a variety of firearms spread across the stage with a Browning 12 guage shotgun front and center. The talking monkey went on and on about how this was such a devastating weapon and no one should be able to own one because you could blow someone's head off at 1000 yards. That was moment I realized that the media doesn't care about the truth. What they care about it stirring up drama for the sake of ratings and pushing their own agenda.

A 12 gauge at a 1000 yards? Were the shells rocket assisted? They want to tell the majority of us stuff like that when they are either PROUDLY IGNORANT or complete liars...disgusting, either way. :mad5
