We could have the world's biggest distillery. Bigger than Jim Beam. Call it Rick's Old No.69. Then Rick could have a logical explanation for nearly falling off the stage a few months ago, and perhaps an explanation for the untimely fire at the governor's mansion (did the still blow up?)Razgriz wrote:First Montana wants to buy a carrier, and now Arizona wants to fund their Militias. Prior military service is not required. However, if you have served, you must have been honorably discharged.Razgriz wrote:JP171 wrote:actually they would take you back your not at the age of being disallowed yet.mr surveyor wrote:at 58 (crowding 59), I'd doubt they'd take me back

So is military service required or not?
I would take that to mean that if you have prior military service, you have to've been discharged honorably (which kinda blows for those who have medical discharges).Razgriz wrote:So is military service required or not?JP171 wrote:Enlistment Requirements•Resident of Texas or enrolled student

Ok, just looked rather confusing.Dave2 wrote:I would take that to mean that if you have prior military service, you have to've been discharged honorably (which kinda blows for those who have medical discharges).Razgriz wrote:So is military service required or not?JP171 wrote:Enlistment Requirements•Resident of Texas or enrolled student

My mistake, I didn't mean to imply that I've been a good enough man to have served in our military. I do know of a guy who blew out his knees in training to become a marine, though. The Corp thought he'd have trouble even walking so they gave him a medical discharge, but he's since made a full (AFAIK) recovery.JP171 wrote:Dave, if your medical discharge is not a 100% disablilty I wold still check it out, a medical is still under honorable conditions and not a disqualifier itself
It is worded confusingly. That's just how I would interpret it... their opinion may differ.Razgriz wrote:Ok, just looked rather confusing.Dave2 wrote:I would take that to mean that if you have prior military service, you have to've been discharged honorably (which kinda blows for those who have medical discharges).Razgriz wrote:So is military service required or not?JP171 wrote:Enlistment Requirements•Resident of Texas or enrolled student

And we have a couple dozen CHL instructors that conduct free CHL classes for TXMF and DPS members and spouses.magillapd wrote:I saw that in their benifits they give you a free TX CHL and a free hunting/fishing combo license. Not too bad.
Sounds like you need a new governor!JP171 wrote:Razgriz wrote:First Montana wants to buy a carrier, and now Arizona wants to fund their Militias. Texas quit slacking and get something awesome too.
Texas has a legal militia, its called the Texas State Guard, we however do not get much funding, we are NOT allowed to carry weapons. We are a civil augmentation force, we are a Texas Military Force under the Adjutant Generals Office. Our funding for the fiscal year of 2012 is just shy of 750 thousand, yes thousand. Texas doesn't have enough money to give us more, the current Administration in Texas refuses to give us more or allow us to be armed, they feel if we are armed then we would be a target, but we are already targets as we do wear the current US Army ACU uniform.
Well, DPS has those machine gun equipped, 900 HP vessels to patrol the Rio Grande.Razgriz wrote:First Montana wants to buy a carrier, and now Arizona wants to fund their Militias. Texas quit slacking and get something awesome too.
