We could have the world's biggest distillery. Bigger than Jim Beam. Call it Rick's Old No.69. Then Rick could have a logical explanation for nearly falling off the stage a few months ago, and perhaps an explanation for the untimely fire at the governor's mansion (did the still blow up?) :cheers2:

So is military service required or not?

Prior military service is not required. However, if you have served, you must have been honorably discharged.

I would take that to mean that if you have prior military service, you have to've been discharged honorably (which kinda blows for those who have medical discharges).

Dave, if your medical discharge is not a 100% disablilty I wold still check it out, a medical is still under honorable conditions and not a disqualifier itself

Ok, just looked rather confusing.

My mistake, I didn't mean to imply that I've been a good enough man to have served in our military. I do know of a guy who blew out his knees in training to become a marine, though. The Corp thought he'd have trouble even walking so they gave him a medical discharge, but he's since made a full (AFAIK) recovery.

It is worded confusingly. That's just how I would interpret it... their opinion may differ.

I saw that in their benifits they give you a free TX CHL and a free hunting/fishing combo license. Not too bad.

And we have a couple dozen CHL instructors that conduct free CHL classes for TXMF and DPS members and spouses.

Texas has a legal militia, its called the Texas State Guard, we however do not get much funding, we are NOT allowed to carry weapons. We are a civil augmentation force, we are a Texas Military Force under the Adjutant Generals Office. Our funding for the fiscal year of 2012 is just shy of 750 thousand, yes thousand. Texas doesn't have enough money to give us more, the current Administration in Texas refuses to give us more or allow us to be armed, they feel if we are armed then we would be a target, but we are already targets as we do wear the current US Army ACU uniform. :banghead:
Sounds like you need a new governor!

This bill in Arizona is a bad idea. I don't think we should let citizens just start replacing federal services. If me and my buddies decide that we want to be the FBI for the state or perhaps do nuclear plant inspections, why shouldn't we get a petition to do it?

And what kind of training will these people have? What about liabilities? Will be insure them? Will the have to meet physical standards (I have seen some really fatties playing militia and it is disgraceful)? Will there be academic standards? What about ethical standards? How does one join? Will there be a maximum amount of people? Will they be armed? Who will arm them if so? With what?

Well, DPS has those machine gun equipped, 900 HP vessels to patrol the Rio Grande.

Those are pretty sweet.

It's still not an aircraft carrier.

But guys, get this, ok, are you ready?

We take the U.S.S. Texas, and, get this, replace the guns on it and mount RAIL GUNS TO IT! Why? Because why not? The battleship is now relevant again, hold your applause please.
