I am a bit sick of people being forced to apologize to avoid being fired from their jobs. Isn't this what "free speech" is all about? Freedom to state a different opinion or even make insulting or "disgusting comments".

Rush's remarks were no doubt inappropriate. He never should have said it and it's wrong. He is lowering himself to the Liberal's standard. What I find more disturbing is when the endless slander and exact same words are said about a conservative woman by some Liberal talk show host or Hollywood type, no one in the media seems concerned. It doesn't even make the news. Obama doesn't make phone calls to them. The women on The View never bring it up. Need an example? Bill Maher calls Sarah Palin the C word, Ed Shultz (MSNBC) calls Laura Ingalls a slut, David Letterman refers to Sarah Palin wearing her slut clothes and makes references to her daughter getting knocked up by a baseball player, the list is long. I guess it's a big deal because Republicans are held to a higher standard while that kind of talk is somewhat expected by liberals.

It would be interesting to hear a womans' perspective on this... but.. IMMO (in my male opinion ;-) ), when a "high-profile talking head" insults a woman by casting such inflammatory, derogatory dispersions at her on live media, I'm inclined to come to her defense, even though I don't agree with her main point. More on point, many women (most?) currently using contraception have their pills subsidized by their company's health care plan.... Should the same offensive labels be applied to them by their employers?
I guess that I didn't make myself very clear, my apologies. It is not the act of taking "the pill" in and of itself that prompted Rush's comments...it was not the use of other consumable contraceptive items, either...she made an OUTRAGEOUS claim of having to supposedly come out of pocket for a large sum of money (as a poor law student) to show how mean the University was for not ponying up the cash to cover it....it was the VERY large sum this woman quoted that led him to say what he said...so large a sum that even if she had to use the most expensive version of "the pill" that there would be a LARGE sum of money left over...and if that LARGE sum of money were spent on other contraceptive consumables, it would be a very LARGE number of consumables used during a very LARGE number of physical encounters...so large a number that the AVERAGE PERSON might be thinking of the same term that Rush used on his show if they found out the woman had gone through such a large number of those consumable items in a year's time frame; its not our business how many she goes through UNTIL SHE SHARES THAT INFORMATION and makes it our business...not to mention, if we are going to have an equal opportunity country, then these women on the left should be prepared to get the same sort of rough rhetorical treatment that the conservative women do...conservatives in general in the political realm get attacked for things they say and do, well these leftist political women should expect the same. This woman is a 30 year old liberal activist who wanted to garner public sympathy in her ideologically driven efforts to force a religious institution to violate their principals by making what seems like extremely exaggerated and inflated claims...Nancy Pelosi set up this little charade after the House Committee declined the woman to speak in front of them. It was all media hype and unfortunately, Rush took the bait and said what a lot of other people were thinking, only he got a little crude doing it. Now they want to shred him for being a "meanie" to this poor, innocent little student...while folks on the left like Bill Maher regularly curse and degrade conservative women, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann, for example. Its a double standard, its a hatchet job, and because of that I really am not bothered by what Rush said in the least...not until the entire playing field is brought to back to some standard of decency...and I don't see any of these so-called journalists and media folks on the left doing anything like that in the foreseeable future. This is the last I am saying on this subject. Good day.

Indeed it is...this is a game being waged by the so-called mainstream media in an attempt to "shame" Limbaugh and chill any spirited retorts to any outrageous claims by the left in this nation.

It's somebody's business because they are financing it. (I guess the university.) But yes I agree.

As a working person, I am paying for the medication that my family takes. This is set by my company and the insurance company. I am not DEMANDING that the public pay for something that I don't want to pay for but want to use.

When I was younger and was first told about sex, I was told that when people demand to be paid for sex, these people fell into a certain category and there are names for these categories. :iagree:
