I have not owned a cat in about twenty five years but my cat always used the litter box. I don't think I could have trained him to use the toilet, but if I did, I would sure as heck make sure he was trained to put the paper on the roll properely. I could not possibly have a cat in my house that did the under roll. He does that even once and I am kicking him out.

I was talking about cat's playing spin the roll, and you walk in to find it all over the floor, but I like your answer better.

Are you still using the Sears catalogs and the phone books instead of Charmin? :-)

I am definitely an 'over the top' guy but my wife's cat finds great joy in playing with the paper while sitting on the toilet seat. It's not uncommon to go into the bathroom to find a large pile of paper under the roll. After she's done playing with it, it's like using lace to take care of business . So we have taken to turning it around to make it harder for her to keep the momentum up as she plays with the paper. I have tried many times to catch said cat in the act but apparently she's part Ninja as I can't catch her. I hate having to become an "underoller" as it goes against nature and all things normal. I curse the cat every time I have to use the throne.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about

But really, I'm an over the top guy, though once you install a bidet, it's tough to go back to recycled wood splinter products or sandpaper
I recall when only "THE Phone Company"
which printed phone books, had an article/press release in the newspaper saying they were going to use recycled toilet paper ... and some readers misunderstood ...

The problem with this picture is that if you have to use the plunger in a hurry -- like to prevent a flood thanks to the low-water-usage toilets that don't have the water volume to actually flush -- you'll end up soaking the bottom 2-3 rolls of paper.

It is so bad, I have been known to "fix" the direction of the roll in friends houses and even in public restrooms that don't have the weird "protected" holders. The toilet paper is designed to roll from over the top. Trust me on this...please. Everyone just give in do it my way. I promise, life will be so much better for you.

I do the same thing at friend's houses, God help me.
I've been guilty of the same thing!

Ann Landers (you younger members might not remember her) solved this years ago. Think back when you bought based on the design printed and not the softness. The design was always printed so you had to put the roll to roll on top.

I was un-nerved when I moved into my new apartment and the roll holder was on the left of the toilet instead of the right. 8 months I've been here and I keep reaching the wrong way. And you guys think you have problems with over/under? Welcome to my nightmare!!!
