I seem to recall suffering through at least 7 global catastrophes so far.
Starting in the 60's, I was certain to die from DDT poisoning before I reached adulthood.
If that didn't kill me, it didn't matter, since were all positively going to die from overpopulation before 1980.
Then, they told me in school that we were heading into another ice age.
Of course, we had nuclear war drills every month, because surely someone would "push the button" one day. (And hiding under a desk would save our lives).
Then, we were all going to die from UV exposure when the FREON depleted the ozone layer.
Next, the genetically altered foods would mutate and attack us.
Then, the global warming.
What will "they" come up with next?
