Hold on, wasn't there some big hubbub a while back about TX making all federal officers TX peace officers as well?

So, being a military "retiree", can anyone tell me if there have been any incidents in the Houston area that would warrant increased surveillance? I understand that we mere peons aren't going to be told of any actionable intelligence, but you'd think you would hear about some sort of incident leading up to this sort of thing. If there HAVEN'T been any incidents or if they don't have actionable intelligence, then why are they wasting taxpayer money on this, and are they now going to start surveilling citizens just because? THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND NEEDS TO STOP. The City of Houston has a police force; unless there is a terrorist threat, then I'm sure they can handle things just fine.

Sorry, sir, but according to this official DHS publication, it is you. Read it here:
http://www.wnd.com/images/dhs-rightwing-extremism.pdf .
"DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities."
And this apparently proves it:
"After Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1990-1991, some returning military veterans—including Timothy McVeigh—joined or associated with rightwing extremist groups."

Didn't see that anyone posted "who are Peace Officers" yet.
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure - Article 2.12
http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/D ... m/CR.2.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And a search of ""who are Peace Officers" for other discussions here regarding other "non-peace officers"

So, are you saying the story is bogus? Pretty impressive, if this is Houston 2 news story is fabricated...

(b) A person commits an offense if he intentionally gives a false or fictitious name, residence address, or date of birth to a peace officer who has:

Question: What is citation about the requirement of a Texas peace officer to have TCLOESE card (license) on person?

I'm not seeing anything about TSA officers on buses in that link. The only reference I've seen to "Undercover TSA Officers" is on tinfoil hat sites and blogs, not actual news sites. Everything else either doesn't say or says undercover police officers. Big difference.

At the very end of the video, the announcer on the bus states the program: "is a collaboration between the congress woman, Metro Pct 7 Constables, and the TSA."
No mention of TSA agents, just the agency itself.

Don't get me started on old Janet and her "ace team" of terrorist hunters...but she sure is welcome to go spend a day humping a ruck while folks try to blow her up while tagging along with some of the Army boys in the 'Stan, or even hang out with my former unit of Air Force mechanics as they bust knuckles to launch, recover, and repair aircraft >12 hours a day in the "sandbox"...as if...that woman is nothing but a political opportunist and sycophantic bureaucrat who has no clue what any of our "returning veterans" put up with over there. Stupidity, simply stupidity.

It's a collaboration that includes the TSA - so maybe you're right. Besides, they are undercover and wouldn't be riding around in their blue TSA uniforms anyway. That is...until they spring into action and do a superman shirt spread to reveal their TSA blues to unsuspecting bus-riding subjects.

The X-ray specs should give them away ...
