My guess: a lot of cats are very sensitive along there spines, especially towards the back, and especially older ones. The difference between "that feels good" and "ouch" is not very great sometimes.matriculated wrote:One time I was scratching a cat's back. Seems you picked the Siamese kitten page. Here's the "generic" kitten page from the same web site. Same advice. ...I've got the scars to prove it...and her owner said "Oh, didn't you know about Siamese...they're all like that..." as I washed the blood down her sink...
