Sometimes I have mixed feelings on this, but mostly I figure they're doing their job and staying ahead of these nuts. They are working undercover to protect us by being able to provide them with inert or fake explosives so they cannot really harm anyone. Otherwise, they might hook up with someone that can provide them with the real thing. I don't think they are enticing them. I think they monitor them and when they, the nuts, go shopping for stuff, the FBI guys swoop in to control the situation and protect us as est they can. I might be naive about this, but that's the way I look at it.

...while not perfect, the FBI has earned a reputation for honesty and integrity...and being gloryhogs...and and and...

This is exactly why I've never had any interest in any militia groups. I figure at least 2/3s of the membership would be feds or informing to the feds, so meh. Even if its all perfectly above board, legal and just a bunch of guys into beer and guns, there are a ton of ways for someone who has the power and wants to really jam you up legally to do so, from taxes to obscure firearms laws to whatever. Here's a hint if you are going to associate with any sort of militia: Whichever member starts talking about explosives, blowing things up and "knowing a guy" who can provide the hardware...he might be a federal agent. Don't go along with his ideas. "rlol"

My sister told me a story not too long ago about busting this nearly octogenarian for not filling out his form4473 correctly. They were able to come into his shop and take all his guns. I understand he needs to follow the law but she and her buds at the atf were like all high 5'in each other on getting the bad guy off the street.

And she really thinks he's a problem? Wow! That's a shame. Sorry to hear that. Is she really a liberal or just going along to get along?
